Chip 06-421

Profile

9/11/06: Chip has made it into RAGOM and is on his way to his new foster home. Boy he is a cute white boy, and BIG. Since foster mom was busy for a couple of nights we have the distinct pleasure of watching Chip. Chip's mother is a pure Golden and dad looked to be a white Lab. Chip is incredibly handsome and did I say Big ? all muscle! Oh yeah, and he LOVES toys!

Chip is currently 10 weeks old and will see the vet tomorrow ? so we will be able to update you on everything we learn tomorrow. He will get a set of puppy shots, micro-chipped and checked for worms ? let's hope for NONE. He will also be Frontlined.

So, if you think he is as cute as we do and want to meet him, send a note to Placementatragom [dot] org and we will make it happen. You will be getting lots more details from his foster mom tomorrow, but I just wanted to get him started.

Well, Brutus (Chip) still has not found his voice – I honestly don’t think he has one. We have tried everything to get something out of him; you will hear a little raspy voice but nothing you can really hear. Interesting, to say the least.

Brutus lets himself out to the deck and then to the hay if the door is open - he will paw at it if it is closed, but won’t make a noise. I think bell training to go outside will be a must. All in all he is such a nice boy. He is big – but very gentle and docile. He woke up at 3 AM last night and really wanted to play, but we said no and he settled back down after pottying and a quick drink.

Brutus’ favorite place to sleep is under our bed or in our bathroom. He also likes Mistee’s big wire crate, as you can see from the picture below where Brutus and his Sister Shelby (06-420) were bringing my daughter's book bag into the crate to chew on and get Mistee into trouble :)

I am trying to get Brutus’ real foster mom to allow me to bring him to the picnic on Saturday to keep Shelby company, since she has to stay in a play pen and away from other dogs (for her well-being, as puppies are not yet fully vax'd at this age). Brutus is the outgoing one, so that would help Shelby a lot!

So, are you ready to meet Brutus?? Please email placementatragom [dot] org so we can set up a meeting.

It is true - Chip is the sweetest guy on earth! He is so sweet - he slept all night - yes, on the bed. We got up at 5 and he kept sleeping, finally at 6:15 we went back into the bedroom and got his fur butt out of bed. He went outside and pottied and then wanted to eat, and boy do I mean EAT.

Then this morning we decided to stress him out and give him a bath; now let me tell you, he needed one! I got quite the bathtub ring from giving him a bath. He is even whiter now that we got the first layer of grime off. When we were done bathing both him and his sister (Shelby 06-420) they took a nice long nap under dry blankets (see picture below).

Now for the vet stuff – we got Chip micro chipped and he weighed in at a whopping 14.2 pounds. The vet said he was in great health and could not believe all the muscle going on in this little boy, so we have the okay to start walking him on a regular basis. We also received our first set of puppy shots and got a worm test done. He is being treated for roundworm.

The best part of our little temporary foster Chip – he has been going to the door to go potty on the hay. Now, I am not saying he is potty trained, I just believe he is going to be really easy. Chip is ready to meet you, if you are willing to meet him. Please contact placementatragom [dot] org if you are interesting in meeting this fabulous boy.
