Chloe's vet visit went well with no health problems identified. She weighs 50.5 pounds, which the vet said was a good weight for her. Her hips are fine; she has one chipped rear molar that is not a problem; and a small benign growth on her shoulder. She is fully vaccinated and microchipped, frontlined and taking monthly heartworm tabs.
Chloe has no anxiety with strangers -- we have had her out on walks every day and have construction workers in and out of our house doing a kitchen remodel. She hasn't barked or expressed any fear. She grew up with children in the house and another dog and got along fine. She has a quiet, but affectionate personality, and will lean against my leg while I'm sitting. She has not been that playful, but I suspect it has to do with being the new dog in our pack with the younger dogs competing for the toys. She is not an alpha dog, but if another dog picks on her or tries to steal her food, she can stand her own. Foster Dad has taught her to swim, and he also jogs with her and she keeps up beautifully. Weeds and burrs pull out of her silky fur with no problem. She could live in a household with or without other dogs, but there needs to be one adult who makes her feel special and spends a lot of time with her.
There is a family interested in meeting Chloe next weekend and we will let you know how that goes. She will also be at Duluth Petco on Saturday, August 11th from 12 noon to 2 pm for a RAGOM Meet & Greet Event.
