What a BEAUTY! I met Nicely today and my first impression was that she is calm and um....NICE! She made no fuss about all of the excitement around her. She is 4 years old and weighs 75 pounds. I got her groomed right away as she definitely needed a bath. When I picked her up later, I was amazed at what a beautiful girl she was. She has a soft swirly coat that is a lovely shade of reddish gold. She has a ridge down the center of her nose. She was wandering around the grooming salon investigating everything. All of the groomers were in love with her.

She has infections in both ears, but otherwise seems very healthy. By Tuesday I should get her heartworm results. This girl is very friendly, curious and smart. She has had experience with children and cats. She should be a great addition to any family. She walks nicely on a leash. Not sure about how she will adjust to house training.... time will tell.

I think Nicely will find her forever home soon!

I'm happy to report Nicely hasn't had a single accident since she delivered her puppies. She knows exactly what to do when she goes outside. While she was pregnant she wasn't allowed upstairs. She accepted that rule almost immediately, proving how smart she is. She has been learning a lot, too. She knows her name and knows "sit" and "come". She has earned free roam at our house and has proven herself trustworthy.

Nicely is an excellent mother. We knew she would be, she is so sweet and loving. The first two days she was very protective of her puppies and had to be coaxed outside to go potty. Now she is much more relaxed and leaves her puppies for short periods of time. She allows us to handle them as much as we want. She is so easy-going.

It's hard to get a good picture of Nicely as she is extremely camera shy. Every time she sees the camera she gets up and walks away. This picture is cute because she is nursing Ian, cuddling with Mia and guarding her toy all at the same time. Watch for more updates soon.

Sorry to say Nicely won't be at the PetCo event this Saturday as planned. Instead she decided to have her puppies. We weren't expecting them for another couple of weeks so it was quite a surprise. She is a very proud mama to a boy named Ian who weighed 15.2 oz. and a girl named Mia who weighed 14.5 oz. Mom and pups are doing well.

Nicely did great her first night at her new foster home. She spent the night quietly in her crate as she is not house trained yet. She is super smart and I'm sure she'll catch on fast especially with the help of the other two dogs here. She's a bit camera shy but with much patience on my part I was able to snap a couple of good pictures. She is absolutely gorgeous! A huge thank you to Lou A. for taking such great care of Nicely and getting her professionally groomed. She has the softest, silkiest fur you have ever felt. The kind you just love to pet.

I took Nicely, Lovie and our resident puppy for a long walk this morning. Nicely walks so well you hardly even know she's there. She could give the other two dogs lessons in that department! She is so sweet and gentle. She fits right in at our house. More to come on this special girl as we get to know her.
