Meet Chuck!
Chuck is a retired farm boy who moved indoors and is now house trained.
He's a senior boy at 13 years of age, but he's still very mobile and loves to walk. He was reported to have had issues with stairs in his previous home, but has shown no problem with the stairs in his foster home.
Being part Golden, he likes to play fetch and take baths. He also likes to chase rabbits and squirrels; therefore, if there is no physical fence, a plan to keep him safe is necessary.
Chuck is a Velcro dog who loves to be near his humans and craves their attention. If he feels they aren't paying enough attention to him, he'll stick his head in their lap while they're working at their desk.
He loves to snuggle and lay down near his foster toddler while he's playing. He likes kids of all ages and although his foster family does not have a cat, Chuck has lived well with cats in the past.
Chuck has a big foster brother dog to play with, though he often passes. The resident dog is less than half his age. We feed the dogs separately because they initially guarded their food from each other. Chuck likes to meet new dogs and is always much better behaved than his foster brother.
After coming into RAGOM, Chuck had surgery to remove mast cells and was neutered. He has early-stage kidney disease, which is being monitored.
Chuck is now deaf and is very quiet. He barks to be let inside (which happens quickly after being let out if his humans aren't with him), when his humans are outside the fence, and when they leave for the day.
Chuck is as easy as they come. If you're a sucker for seniors, Chuck might be for you.
