Hello Cindy here,

Cindy Lou as my foster mom calls me, let me introduce myself to you:

I am an amazing 13 year old girl, who weighs 100 pounds (my foster mom tells me that we will be working on a weight loss program).

I love people but I am very quiet….I must know where you are at all times, and will find you just to lay down somewhere as to keep my eyes on you. I cannot hear, so I rely on your hand to guide me.

Cats I like and they can even share my food with me if they must, and I really love food but take it ever so gently from your hands.

I get very excited to see you if you leave me, but will just lay around and wait for your return. I really love to rest on the couch - I feel safe up there. I get to roam all over the house when I am left alone, and I do not get into anything or chew. I do love the company of my newest pal (another RAGOM dog), he is a gentle golden too and has made me feel very welcome and appears to like me. I need to be with another older dog or alone that gives me more quiet time and sleeping time. I do not have any accidents in the house. I go outside to do my business, but like to come right back in.

My foster mom takes me for walks and I really loved it a bunch, I got very excited and walked really fast, but I did not make it very far and needed to come home to rest.

If you are looking for a senior sweet, adorable girl (if I must say so myself) then you should adopt me so I can come and rest at your house for the rest of my Golden life. I promise I will love you oodles.

Yesterday I said goodbye to another angel, Cindy 09-091. Cindy was my very first transport and foster and I was blessed with having her for the duration of her “dutchess” life.

She was more of a gift to me than I can even begin to share with you!! She was a perfect house guest, never barked, loved her walks and TENNIS BALLS. Even on her very last day she went after the tennis ball, and it would be even better if you came to get it from her so she can run away. What a doll and this little pumpkin will be so missed by ME :-{

Cindy came to me and was my golden angel girl from the start, we turned her life around and she had a tail wagging going on and she loved to see everybody. She was there for me when I lost my resident dog Mick and she was again there when we lost Bella.

One of many fun things about her is her need to see you at all times and I mean that, she followed me on the lawn mower, back and forth and everywhere else that I would go!!! The neighbors would just laugh.

She was a shining star in some very sad times for me and now I had to make that very difficult decision to let her go. Cindy’s health was starting to fail and her legs were really hurting, and she was on as much pain med as was safe. She was looking tired and fatigued and just losing that zest. I decided to send her over the bridge before it got too bad for her. She left this world walking into the vets with BALL in Mouth, and I sat down and fed her Cookies and M & M ‘s until I held her head in my hands to kiss and hug her until she was gone and is now romping around with Mick and Bella and all the other Goldens that have blessed our world. Forever in my heart and NEVER FORGOTTEN.

I took these pictures the day before I said goodbye. Goodbye my sweet Dutchess girl and thank you for the gifts that were given to me by fostering you!!!!

She is doing well and happy and healthy. She has pulled a muscle in her leg and is a bit more laid back Saturday and today. But she still does not want to give up her chasing the balls.....gotta love that !!!! Enjoy.

Hello out there Cindy Lou here!!!

Well it has been a busy month for me, Foster mom left me for a week!! I did not really like that however I did get to swim everyday that was fun. I was very excited when my schedule was back on track.

I was at the Ragom Walk-Run and had a whole bunch of fun and treats!!! I was all over the place and I got to be in the foster parade just to show everyone how beautiful I am!!!! That was a really long day for me, but really loved meeting all the wonderful RAGOM friends and I met people that have been reading my updates, as well as getting to meet my amazing sponsor Judith. So good to meet you Judith.....love U for helping to take care of me. Oh and by the way Judith thinks that I am a Dutchess!!!! LOL

I am sending a couple of new pictures for you, I feel great and still go for walks everyday. I had a little bout with the runs, but I got some meds and I feel much better. Here is the best news of all........ready :-} I HAVE LOST 16 POUNDS!!! Yah!!! I feel so good and my foster mom she says that I look soooo good. I get up and down easier, can chase my balls faster!!! I have a little bit of my sexy back. I wag my tail all the time, carry balls around with me all the time. And I still must know where you are all the time. I am just loving life. Talk to you soon!!!

Sorry for the delay in my updates with Cindy, I do not know what to say except she is a doll!!! She is such a good walker (Slow) but good. Loves her balls, and her health is GREAT. She is something else with the tennis balls; one must always be thrown when we go outside.....she tries to run so fast and her poor little body does not go as fast as she would like it to.

She and Bella both got their nails trimmed outside and she just lays there for you. She loves her food and is most perfect in every way. Loves everyone and is a very very mellow girl. She and Bella really like each others company!!!

Hello in there Cindy here……………boy oh boy I love it outside, I love my food, I love my toys, I love my tennis balls, I love to watch you eat, I love how I feel, and I love whoever is reading this right now!! :-}

Update on me, I went to the doctor for a check- up and I have allergies!!!Surprise, but now we have a perfect plan to keep everything feeling really good. So I am very excited about that.

When going outside I must take a tennis ball with me, even though I want you to throw it for me, you will have to chase me down to get it. Then I will run as fast as my little legs can go to get it. Usually just to drop it and roll all over it.

I really like lying in the shade outside, but you have to stay out there with me…..or I wanna come in with you!!! I am wagging my tail all the time, I have hit the jackpot in life, I never knew it was so good.

I will follow you everywhere and if you are walking me and stop usually I will just lay down and wait for you. I need to know where you are ALL the time. And don’t think you can go into the bathroom without me…..OH NO I will follow U.

Mick my buddy gets into this pool of water outside in the back yard and just lays there (I see no point to that), Not me I prefer to just drink it.

I still don’t bark, I have never growled, I love anyone and anything. I will sleep right next to your bed.

Well enough about me….How are YOU!!! Do you have a place for me at your house???
Licks and kisses…………Cindy

Hello in there Cindy here:

Just wanted to say hi and send you some pictures.  Well I have lost more weight and am feeling great!!  Today 5/28/09 I went on a walk with mom at 5 a.m. and then again at 3 and tonight again with mom and my buddy Mick.  When I first came I could hardly walk a block.  I have not been weighed in but I bet I have lost 15 or more pounds.  I can roll on my back and roll back and forth which I could not do because of my weight.  I can scratch and itch places I could not get at before and have so much more energy…..no more sleeping all the time for me!!!

I totally LOVE tennis balls and will at my age of 14 chase them everywhere.  If you have a tennis ball I will follow…….and there is a bucket of tennis balls and toys outside too!!! I go and pick balls out of the bin and put them in the yard.  Mom picks them up and puts them back in the silly bin, so I get them out again.  My favorite ball is a green squeaker and we just got some new squeaker tennis balls and I love them.

My health is great I have some summer allergies but with some meds I am great.  I follow mom around all the time, and if you go out a door I will sit and watch that door or lay by it until you return.  When you open the door be careful I will be there.

I almost forgot to tell you that I went to the lake this last weekend....wow did you know how much fun water is.  And there are tennis balls in the water too.  I loved it. And swam with the other 2 dogs.  Super Duper fun....I was very tired!! I am a perfect house guest and could still use a forever HOME…..

Hello there, sorry for the delay in my update, but my Mom went to Arizona. I am Cindy hear me ROAR....well yawn or snore maybe. I am doing so great I love my tennis balls and food and walks. And am a perfect guest if I must say so myself. My ears are better, and my eyes look great. If my foster mom just keeps my eyelashes short I am good. I am just starting to really feel secure and know that I can come sit right by you instead of across the room. I love kisses and hugs, I have only barked ONCE since being here (it of course was very necessary). I am thinking that life could not get better......or could it????

I have sent a couple of new pics for your viewing pleasure.

Hugs and Licks....Cindy

HOPPY EASTER to you.......I found an Easter Egg in the yard :-} It was big and round and YELLOW. I sure love my tennis balls, I will run after them over and over again.

I am doing great, my ears are acting up again and are a bit itchy but my FM is all over that. My eyes too, but no problem, I have someone to take care of me now. Everything is great. I am loving the weather and here is something very exciting......I BARKED. I am still waiting for my forever home....Hugs and Licks Cindy.

Hippity Hop everyone, Cindy is still amazing me everyday. She barked for the first TIME since I have had her. Wow it was so sweet, she was in the house and barked at the golfers out in the back. Her ears are a bit itchy and I think will always need to have meds just to keep them from getting really bad. The vet did warn me that too. Her eyes are acting up too but we just got some more drops and try to maintain them.

She is a joy to have around, loves her balls and the toys and is so good with my dog (but will go take the ball from him) because ALL the balls inside and out BELONG to her. And when we go on walks she loves everyone else too. Everything is going just great.....I will be on vacation next week and will not get another update until I return.

Well Cindy's foster mom here to tell you that Cindy is such a sweet girl. She was at the Petco event and just laid there, did not really care about the other dogs walking on her. She is the easiest dog EVER. Easier than my own. I call my house the Senior Center for the PRIME Goldens. I have been blessed with her, she and my senior get along so well. She would fit in anywhere. There is not one thing to say about her that is not positive. We all sleep together and she still snores and so does mine so who knows maybe I join in too. She goes out to do her business, likes nice slow walks, does not steal food or counter surf, has no guarding issues, you can take a raw bone away from her. Loves to know where you are, likes to ride in the car. etc etc......Perfect Dog.

Enjoy her pictures!!!

I sure hope Judith knows what she has done for this sweet girl. Thanks again for your sponsorship.

HAPPY SPRING DAY!!

Just thought it was time for me to check in with all of you, I think perhaps I have died and gone to heaven, how do I know this let me count the ways.

  1. There is a basket of toys at this house that is something I have never encountered before. I did not have toys and there are so many I do not know which one to chew. I do have a couple of favorites and I have destroyed a few. You are suppose to pull the stuffing out ya know.

I get apples and watermelon, cantaloupe and oranges for snacks. For you dogs out there that snub your nose to these items, you maybe just wanna try them….. they are pretty tasty.

  2. There are tennis balls every where, they are even frozen in the snow outside and I tried really hard to get them out, so I have waited for them to melt. Did I tell you I love tennis balls??

  3. I have a fenced in back yard and a big deck that Mick (that is my new friend) get to stretch out on and wonder around and smell all the smells (I really love it best when there is a human out there with me too).
  4. I do not think I have ever felt better in my life…….my ears feel so so so so much better, and my eyes well they are just beautiful(yep I look at myself in this big mirror in the bedroom). I am pretty sure I am something else……watch out all you other girls.
  5. I sleep right next to the bed (don’t tell anyone but I have taken over the spot of Mick)………isn’t he nice. And I snore!!!!
  6. I get to go on 2 walks each day (I have lost more weight and my legs feel better) I can get up and down, that is something I was not able to do without hurting a lot.
  7. Did I mention I feel safe, Did I say I feel loved, Did I say I am so happy now, Did I tell you I need a FOREVER HOME??????

Hi everyone, Foster mom here, Cindy is doing just marvelous since her spay. She is up and feeling pretty good. She has been outside and eating very well again. She is going to spring back just great. Her ears are looking really good and she has lost almost 10 pounds. Please look at the “DUTCHESS” picture below - for sure, she is a beauty. I just love her so much and know that she will fit right into the perfect family for her. She needs to not have a bunch of stairs and she is a Velcro dog that needs to know where you are and when you leave you let her see you going (cuz she does not hear you), or she gets up looking for you. Loves her toys and balls, and I really cannot believe how much she has changed since I brought her home. If you are looking for a princess that will keep you great company she is your gal.

2/28/09:

After picking up Cindy we took her to the vet for her check-up. She weighed in at 101 and at her age that is too much weight and very hard on her joints. Cindy is now being treated for bacterial infections in both eyes and ears. She was an angel at the vet and everyone loved her.

She came into the house and went right to sleep. She looks around to make sure you are still there; she cannot hear, but can see fairly well. Maybe if we get those eyes cleared up she will be able to see better. Most of the time she keeps her eyes shut.

She slept in my room in the evening and then migrated onto the couch. She was the perfect house guest.

3/1/09:

Cindy is such a sweet girl…… Today she was very excited to see me get home from church and finally ate a bit of food out of my hands.

I was cooking in the kitchen and she was very happy to be in the kitchen with me just in case some food flew off the counter. She does not counter surf, and is so gracious when you feed her.

She has shown absolutely no aggression to any food or toy. She loves the tennis ball, and she has a bit of spunk in her.

She is going to be feeling better soon and she will just be the perfect senior dog for someone. When she saw me get ready to walk my guy she was up and ready to go too. She was so excited to be outside and roll around. She then went on a walk that she walked at a very brisk pace, we went down the street and came back up and she was ready to rest. Given a bit more time and weight loss she will love to walk. She walks very nice does not pull.

3/2/09:

I got a call from the vet today with all of Cindy’s blood work and everything looks just PERFECT - nothing at all to be concerned with. She is also Heartworm Negative, another bit of great news.

She will now start on prednisone for her joints and ears and she will also start on Tremadol for her legs. I am so excited to see her progress and watch her blossom.

3/5/09:

Cindy had a SPA day yesterday and she was bathed and trimmed - she looks just so pretty. Her eyes are really making wonderful progress, all the puss is gone and she has them opened up and they look brighter.

Her ears are another story, we are still working on trying to get them looking better and clearing out the bacteria. But they too look so much better than they did when she came to me.

She is healthy enough to get spayed and we will do that in the next few weeks.

She is just amazing, so quiet and gentle. She has full run of the house and just sleeps by the door waiting for someone to come back home. I do have a dog walker that comes so she and my guy get walked each day, and we try to go on one shorter walk at night.

We are working on our weight (We have lost 6 pounds already). She has been eating Fromms duck and sweet potatoes food and appears to love it. I give her organic apple sauce with Glucosamine and chondroitin for her joints each feeding.

Please LOOK AT ME NOW :-}

3/10/09:

Cindy is a JOY - what can I say. No issues at all….just perfect.
