Cleo 05-175

Profile

7/15/05: My name is Cleo and I am 12 years old. Wait a minute...What??! I can't be 12 years old. I'm QUITE sure I'd know if I was 12 years old so that HAS to be wrong. I'm more like six. Yeah...six. That's what I am. I'm in RAGOM foster care because a member of my former family developed allergies. They were very sorry to surrender me because they loved me very much. I miss them, too, but I'm doing GReat here in my new foster home and I get along just fine with the two resident dogs. My former family took excellent care of me and I'm current on all my vaccinations, spayed, and heartworm negative. You could say I'm one healthy middle-aged dog (work with me, won't you?)! Alright, so the hearing's a little sub-par but that does NOT mean I'm old. It certainly doesn't prevent me from having FUN FUN FUN! I'm a VERY happy girl and I wag my tail ALL the time. Foster Mom says she can feel the draft in the next room. More to come as Foster Mom gets to know me better. If you simply can't wait, you could come to the Highland Petco on Saturday, July 16th cuz I'll be there hangin' with all my pals in foster care. See you there!

It's me, Cleo. I've just been hanging out in foster care, playing with my dead duck and going on occasional home visits with Foster Aunt. Foster Mom says I am the perfect house guest because I have no bad habits. I'm not even afraid of thunderstorms or fireworks. (Have there been any?) And I am an excellent ambassador for RAGOM at events. I just love everyone and everything. Foster Mom says I have a zest for life. I have more energy than the two resident dogs here put together...except when I eat. That's when I like to take things nice and sloooowwww. I like to spit mouthfuls of food onto the floor and eat each piece individually while I savor every bite. I can't be sure, but that could be the reason Foster Mom set her alarm clock for ten minutes earlier. You see, she has to stand guard over me while I eat because the resident cow...I mean, dog, horns in. When I'm all done I RUN for my duck and I shake him all over the room! Don't tell anyone, but when Foster Mom gets home from work we play the tennis ball game in the backyard. That's where Foster Mom throws the tennis ball, I run for it, and then we play keep away. I'm not supposed to do that cuz it's high impact on my joints but Foster Mom says that since I'm taking aspirin now I should be okay. And I have been!! After play time I put my head in Foster Mom's lap for scratches and pets. Then comes bedtime and we all play a game I made up. I like to wait until Foster Mom and the two resident dogs start up the steps and when they get half way up, I come racing through and blow by 'em all!! I'm sacked out in my dog bed before they even reach the top!

Life in foster care is pretty good but I know I'm gonna have to adjust to a new forever home and I'd like to do that soon before I get totally acclimated here. Foster Mom's startin' to look at me like she loves me alot!

It's Cleo checking in. I'm having a blast in foster care. I would really like to play with the resident dogs here but apparently they think it's beneath them. Foster Mom says I try even harder than the other foster dogs to get them to play but they're loads. Sometimes out of the blue I'll belt out a big "Wooooooofffffff". It makes Foster Mom jump. Funny. Of course in canine this means, "Anybody up for a play session? No? Okay. Hellllooooo, tail!". I'm perfectly capable of amusing myself. Me and Foster Mom play tug too and that's REALLY fun. I have to play low impact games because I have just a touch of arthritis in my wrist. Nothing unmanageable. When playtime's done, I put my head in Foster Mom's lap for some scratches.

The kind of forever home I need would be one with or without kids (I was raised with boys who are now 3 and 5), no cats (I just can't help myself), with or without other dogs, and a fence (since I can't hear when you call me) or at least a home where someone will always take me out. I will need about 100 toys, a down bed, and an inground pool. Oh...scratch that. (NEVER write your updates with Foster Mom looking over your shoulder.) I will need some toys that I really like and perhaps a kiddie pool. Guess that makes me easy to please!!

Take THAT, Duck!Oh, Duck, what have I done?
