Welcome Cooper! This beautiful boy has been in our home for a week and a half now and is settling in well. He met our 14-year-old Golden Retriever easily, and they are co-existing well.
Cooper has shown no resource guarding with food or toys toward our dog or us. He is very gentle when he is taking treats!
Cooper’s previous owners taught him the "sit," "shake," "wait," "come," and "lay down" commands. He knows to sit and wait to be leashed before going outside and before eating!
Cooper is a happy, quiet, medium-energy boy who likes playing with stuffed toys and chewing on bones. He did well with my 9-year-old niece, but because he has a solid build, he could knock over smaller children. Therefore, kids in his new home should be 10+ years of age.
Cooper is an interested boy who currently barks loudly and pulls hard when he sees other dogs, cars, critters, and people while on a walk. He will need consistent, positive training to learn to walk safely and calmly on a leash.
Because he would like to run freely when he is distracted outside, a fenced yard is a requirement at Cooper’s new home. When in our yard (or house), Cooper comes when called immediately and happily!
Cooper received a full wellness check six months ago and had no health issues! He was neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He also had a dental cleaning and a grooming. He is said to have done well with all procedures, though he whined during his nail clipping. He will be seen by a RAGOM vet at the end of April.
Cooper loves ear rubs, tummy rubs, and bum scratches! He would also like to be on the bed at night, but since that spot is taken by our dog, he is content with rotating between the dog bed and the floor at the foot of the bed. Good boy!
