It is with great pleasure that I introduce Zeus! Zeus is a 1 year old, PB male Golden Retriever. Isn't he handsome?! He was surrendered by his family because they found they did not have the time it requires to care for a dog, so they did the loving thing and surrendered him to RAGOM! They wanted Zeus to have the Golden life he deserves!

We have had Zeus for a week and we are enjoying every second of it! He is a fun boy and oh so sweet! He gets along great with other dogs, does well with children and is completely housebroken with full roam of our home. Zeus is already neutered and boy oh boy ... is he ever glad that is over with and in his past! ;) We took Zeus to the vet for a routine wellness check. Right now Zeus weighs about 78 pounds and the vet thinks he could stand to lose about 6-8 pounds, so we are working on that with decreased kibble, added veggies and plenty of exercise! The second surprise is that Zeus has hookworms, which were found in his stool sample. The vet gave Zeus a hookworm treatment on the spot, which started to work immediately. She also gave us a second dose to give to him in a few days to be sure it's all gone. She said that he probably got it from his mother at birth and that the treatments should clear it up with no problem! Phew! Other than the weight and pesky hookworms, Zeus is in excellent health!

Okay, now on to the fun stuff! Zeus is SO incredibly sweet. Although he is only 1 year old, he does not chew inappropriate items, only uses the yard to do his business, walks pretty well on a leash for not having been to obedience and is not overly hyper, as many young pups can be. Don't get me wrong, he does have some energy, he's just not over the top. Zeus will need a daily walk, which is something that we feel is very important not only to his weight management, but his overall happiness. Mr. Zeus is a great listener and always comes when he is called. He listens very well to "no", etc. He knows his basic commands, such as sit and lay. He is so smart that I think obedience would be a breeze for him!  Zeus is super social, so I also think another dog would be nice for Zeus. He really enjoys playing with other dogs and enjoys playing fetch with you!

Zeus is also a big time cuddle bug! He loves to snuggle up and lay his head in your lap. He also loves turning over on his back and putting his head and upper back on your lap while you rub his tummy (kind of like cradling a baby!). I have attached a picture as an example. He's just a big love bug!! We would definitely like to see a family that would allow him to cuddle up with them because he is such a lover!

Honestly, I can't think of anything negative about Zeus! He is a great dog and is very easy to fall in love with! :) As far as cats go, we aren't sure about them yet. We will have to cat test him, so more to come on that.

Here is the breakdown of what we'd like in Zeus' forever home:

- A family that will take him for daily walks, not only for his weight, but for his overall happiness.
- A family that is willing to take him to obedience. Not because he has bad manners (not our boy Zeus!), but because it would almost be a shame to not bring him! He's SO SMART!
- A family that will treat him as a member of their family and let him cuddle up with them, etc.
- A family with another dog is a huge plus.
- We always like to see a fenced in yard. Zeus is not a runner, but loves to be outside and is used to having a fence.

Zeus was adopted by the "A" family! Zeus has a new fur sister and lots of room to play! It was a match made in RAGOM Heaven!

We are blessed to have been able to foster you, Zeus! We love you and will miss you, but know that you are happy as can be in your new home!

Love,

FM, FD & Nellie
