Profile

Helena (we call her Lena) came to Minnesota from China, via RAGOM's international rescue program. She is a playful puppy who needs a family devoted to her training, socialization, and exercise. Helena can live with other dogs or as an only dog. She can also live with children, but young children must be supervised around Helena due to her puppy exuberance. She hasn’t yet been tested with cats. Although not required, a fenced yard would be best for Helena to safely race around and play.

Helena hit the jackpot when she found her perfect furever home. She will have two fur sisters to play with and a mom and dad who fell in love with her instantly.

Her travels from a life in rescue in China to the new life she has found through RAGOM is just wonderful for this sweet girl. I will miss her a lot, but I also know she couldn’t be in a better place.

Welcome Helena to RAGOM and the start of a new life for her. Helena came from Shanghai, China, where she was surrendered to a rescue by her family there. She was with the rescue for several weeks as she was too small and young to travel. Helena arrived into RAGOM’s care at the end of November.

Helena, I call her Lena, which she seems to respond to, is a typical 6-month-old Golden puppy. She loves to play and has shown an interest in fetching the ball. She plays hard and can entertain herself pretty well. Lena is also content to chill out and watch the world go by.

Lena went to the vet, is up to date on vaccinations, is microchipped, and has been spayed. She has no ongoing medical issues. She is pretty well potty trained with only an occasional accident. Lena sleeps in her kennel at night and is kenneled when I am gone.

Lena gets along with my resident dog Bella and plays well with Jessa, another foster. She likes to be outside and does pretty well on the leash and loves the snow. When out walking she is eager to meet any new dogs or people. Lena seems to think that everyone wants to be her best friend.

In her forever home, Lena would love another pup to play with but certainly not a necessity. Since she is young and energetic, small children would have to be watched as she is pretty exuberant. A fenced yard would be nice to play in. Lena has not been cat tested yet, but that is something we will do.

Helena is just a puppy looking to find that special forever home after traveling so far in her short life.
