We picked up Daisy on Monday and have fallen in love with this sweet seven-month-old puppy. She is a very good girl, and plays very well with our resident dog. She went to the vet today and everyone there thought she was the cutest golden they have ever seen. She was even eating the Vet Tech's lunch-time carrots. She is up to date on her shots and a very healthy 42lb petite little girl. Daisy will be going in to get spayed on Monday.
We took her out on the pontoon boat last night; she must have thought a swim would be good because she just jumped overboard. One moment she was walking from side to side, looking this way and that and suddenly she just jumped over the rail and into the water. We stopped and called her and she swam right over to the door on the pontoon so we could pull her in. What a surprise for all of us. Of course we all ended up wet but cooler. She is very well behaved and listens really well for a puppy.
She has not spent much time on a leash in her short life and, as a result, doesn't walk beautifully while on one. The vet said that he thought she had a soft throat and should be walked on a Gentle Leader. She loves a squeaky toy, she is crate trained and sleeps in a crate at night. She was helping in the garden today and we learned that while she may ask for a green bean ... she doesn't like them.
She rides very well in the car. She does need more time on leash and some obedience training. On these hot days she likes to lay on the tile floor where it's just a little bit cooler. Every thing about this girl tells us she came from a home where they loved her very much and just didn't have the time to spend with a puppy.
