Sparky is a real sweet girl, and she is really good with kids. Our grandson stayed over for the weekend and Sparky loved his attention. She was very gentle with him and followed him around the house hoping that he had one more treat in his pocket. When he went laid down for a nap in the afternoon, she also took a nap on the floor along side of his bed. She just wants to be with us, no matter what we are doing.
Sparky continues being an attention sponge. She initiates play by taking a ball or a tug of war rope and puts it in you hand, trying to get you take it and play with her. She’ll do the same with our resident golden, shoving it in his face till he tries to get it from her, then she spins around in circles to keep it out of his reach. As soon as he give up trying to get it from her, she’s right back in his face teasing him with it.
Sparky looks forward to get home from work time, first it is out to go potty, then her favorite thing is to go riding in the truck to a walking trail a couple miles away. She loves riding in the truck. She jumps right up into the back seat, then sits and watches out the window on the way over to the trail. Once we are there, she’ll go along the path investigating all the smells while thoroughly enjoying herself. When it’s time to go back Sparky’s ready and waiting at the truck door to go home because now it is supper time!
Sparky is doing great. She is a velcro dog, she is at my feet right now as I write this. She loves being petted and she’s got the nicest soft fur. Sparky is very well behaved, she has complete freedom to roam the house while we are at work and is so excited when we get home because first it is play time, then time for a walk. Sparky has been with us for 2 weeks now, she’s settled right in to our routine. Sparky is really a nice dog; she is trusted with the run of the house for 9 hours a day while we are at work with no problems. We learned that Sparky comes when she is called, likes to fetch tennis balls for you, and she walks nicely on a leash besides you. She’s met up with lots of other dogs on our walks and has been around our 2 year old grandson and also our neighbor’s grade school age kids, all with good results. She is well socialized and non aggressive. She loves being petted and was good about getting a bath and getting her nails trimmed. She is still a little chubby, but she is on a diet and is slimming down nicely. Sparky is well behaved and is a true companion dog; she likes to be outside but only if you are with her. When it’s time to go inside, she’ll beat you to the house door every time! She loves attention, but is content to be at your feet or at the side of your bed at night. This dog is a real sweetie.
