Hi RAGOM land!

I would like you to meet the wonderful and handsome Dakota! Dakota is a neutered 2 1/2 year old beautiful Golden. He is tall, and weighs in at 77.8lbs :)

Dakota was surrendered by someone who loved him very much, but was not able to give him the attention he needed. She is an older woman who felt bad that she could not exercise him more. She was VERY sad to let him go. So now he joins us in RAGOM land :)

Dakota was starting to chew on things in his previous home and was developing seperation anxiety. Since he has come to his foster home, or the circus as FM likes to call it, he has been doing good. He is going in his kennel better and is not as anxious, because he has the resident dogs to be with. We do kennel him when we are gone during the day.

He is 100% house broken. He had only been around small dogs for most of his life, so he was not used to the bigger dogs in the house. Not sure that he could play with them :) But now they all play together and he has more confidence in playing. He was scared of the cats at 1st, but now he thinks they are toys (he sees the other small dogs play with them). So he has been learning the command "leave it" and usually he just walks away. He never does anything mean, just wants to run after them and get them to play....or lick them...hahaha :) So he would need a home with a dog savy cat or no cats.

He will need a home with another dog..or 2. He REALLY enjoys playing with all the dogs in our home. He is a very smart boy, and learns things easily. He likes to be with his people also. He REALLY enjoys playing with another foster we have, an Austrailan Shepard named Bindi (She is with another rescue group).

Dakota is up to date on his vaccinations and is microchipped already :) This boy is ready for his forever home! Is that you? :)

Updates

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Hi everyone!

Dakota is doing great! FM apologies for not sending another update sooner, she has been gone for 5 days, she took the horses to Maplewood State Park for a weekend of camping. :) FD says that Dakota was fine with FM being gone :)

We had the horses out here for a day, and he was curious about them, but just ran around them in a big circle and never got to close :) The horses are dog pros so they didn't even notice! :)

Dakota is a wonderful dog, who is full of energy. He will be 3 at the end of December, and loves life. He loves to play with all the resident dogs, so he will need a home with another dog or 2. He respects baby gates and will go in his kennel when FM and FD go to work for the day. He would probably be better in home with kids 12 and older. He can get a little over playful and might knock someone down without meaning too :) He is currently eating Nutrisource Lamb & Rice (which is what we have always fed) as in his previous home he has shown allergies to chicken.

Dakota is a quick learner and also loves to cuddle :) Enjoy the pictures of him spending some time relaxing in the recliner.
