An update from Smooch's new family:

Smooch is such a great addition to the family - we're in love already!

Smooch came home with us on Friday (Thanks foster moms Jen and Leann!) and settled right in with his new big brother Darwin. It was a tough weekend to introduce a new dog to the family since we had 5 extra family members staying with us from Sat - Mon for Easter - plus their 2yr old golden. However, Smooch had a fantastic time playing with his new cousin, Hoover, and really misses her today. He also just loved his new "grandparents" and was a BIG hit with everyone! Today (Monday) Smooch and his new mom are going to just settle in and adapt to what a more normal day will be in his new pack. Hopefully soon he'll realize that this is his forever family and will love us as much as we already love him!

Thanks to everyone who volunteers their time and their hearts at Ragom. It's evident that everyone is devoted to the cause of bringing these wonderful dogs into places where they can thrive and be loved. Keep up the great work!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Smooch is in his forever home. I knew when I met these people that it was a match made in heaven for Smooch. I want to thank RAGOM for taking Smooch in and giving me the pleasure to be his second foster mom. It was very hard not to fall in love with him. He was such a delight to have around my house, so gentle, well behaved and such a love bug (that's what his new family calls him). Of course I cried when I said my good-byes, but I knew that his new family would treat him like a King along with their 12 year old lab Darwin. I want to thank Amy (a RAGOM volunteer) their friend that told them about Smooch and came to check him out at the PetSmart and fell in love with him. I called his new family and they said he is just an Angel and they are in love with him and he is such a love bug. Next, I want to thank the family that surrendered him for loving him and taking care of him in the time they had him. I could really tell he was loved very much. His new family consists of 2 adults and 2 children and 1 fur brother Darwin. So if you are reading this update on Smooch and are interested in another RAGOM dog please contact placementatragom [dot] org and let them know which dog you are interested in.

Here are some of the last pictures I took of Smooch when he was here with me his foster mom, another RAGOM golden Happily Ever After story.

Well, the snow sure came down pretty all night and this morning. There is nothing so sweet as to see 2 dogs playing in the fresh snow. Smooch and my black lab Charmin were having so much fun outside today I was jealous. I do not have a fenced in yard yet so poor Smooch had to be on a very long leash. That's ok I sure got my work out three times today. Smooch is doing so good I hate to give him up. I have not seen my poor cats for 2 days. Smooch barked at my son when he came home the other night and 2 ran upstairs and 2 downstairs. I had to go find them to see if they were ok. Smooch does not even care about them. They are not used to a dog barking. Charmin my black lab hardly ever barks. She is so mellow and quiet. Smooch is a very loving and kissing dog. He loves to put his nose between your legs when you are walking. He almost knocked me down a couple of times. I think Smooch used to sleep in a big peoples bed at his previous loving home because when I was on the bed the other night he jumped right up in bed with me. I had to tell him sorry but there is not enough room for us all in this bed. He was ok about getting down. Smooch is going to love going to his furever home with 2 kids that will give him all the love and kisses he wants. Well, I am including a few more pictures of Smooch and my lab playing today. Check back on Friday for a update on his new home. He is going to love it there and they will love him too.

Well, I don't know where to begin. I am Smooch's 2nd foster mom. I picked up Smooch on Friday night. The place he was at, one of the residence dogs did not get along with him. No fault of Smooch. We had a wonderful night, he is so well behaved. Smooch is my 2nd foster dog and he is great. My 1st foster was great also. I have been blessed with two great dogs, but the problem is I don't seem to keep them long enough. I adopted my first one out at the September RAGOM picnic of 2007 after only having her for 2 weeks. She is now with a wonderful family from Hastings, and now Smooch is going to go to his furever home on Friday. Smooch is great, he was really loved a lot.

Smooch and I went to PetSmart on Saturday so a family could meet him and you know what... it was love at first sight. We went over to the family's home that same day to see if their older dog and Smooch would get along and it was a match made in heaven. Smooch's family is going on vacation until Thursday and on Friday he will have a wonderful family to get all the pets and belly rubs any dog could ever want. So you see I have a happy ending to 2 wonderful dogs. I don't even get time to try and keep these wonderful dogs. So if you are reading this update on Smooch sorry he is not available anymore, but please look at our other RAGOM dogs and see which one you would be interested in to be your friend furever.

Here are some pictures of Smooch and my black lab. Got to go and take the pups outside to wear off some energy before I go to work.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Smooch got a clean bill of health at the vet last night. He doesn't even have ear infections! :) He is now up-to-date on shots, tested negative for heartworm, and his fecal was clear. YAY! Oh, and Smooch is a good weight at 67 lbs.

See my feathering on my butt and tail? I'm definitely part Golden, but easier to groom!
