Sweetheart Delila has found the perfect family for her. She has a fur sister in her new home to show her the ropes and a cat friend too. Her new dad loves to garden, which is a perfect fit for Delila since she loves to be outside and a new mom that works at a vet clinic so all her medical needs will always be up to date.
She took a big piece of foster mom's heart when she left this weekend, but she is now giving kisses to her new family and snuggling up to her new fur sister. She is such a lucky girl!

Sweetie Pie Delila "Rose" had a busy summer. She spent a lot of her summer going up north to the cabin with Foster Mom and resident dog. She loves to go for rides and always wants to scoot into the garage if she thinks Foster Mom is going somewhere. I give her a dog treat when she's not tagging along and she is okay with this, too.
I never hear a peep from her on the 4-hour ride up north and 4-hour ride back home. If you are looking for a travel buddy, Delila is your girl. She is hesitant to get out of the car at a new place but with encouragement and another dog she does just fine.
Foster Mom had a former foster pup with us for a week. It was great to see the young pup try to get Delila to play. He was able to get her to play with a stuffy toy and there was some tug action going on with Delila walking proudly away with the toy. She was one proud pup!
Delila does well with all the dogs she has met. She gets so excited to see other dogs, but she is hesitant of new people and will watch from a distance until she is brave enough to greet the person.
Delila went to her first bonfire party last night. She checked out the other dogs, let people pet her, and then dug a hole in the sand and watched the fire from there. She seemed content just watching.
This sweetie pie is just a love bug. She loves to come bounding in from outside and put her front paws on the couch for pets and to give kisses. If you happen to lay on the ground you will surely get attacked by her sweet kisses and her nudges for pets. Don't let that gray face fool you! She has the excitement of a 3 year old when going for a 3 mile run or seeing other dogs walk by our fence.

Guess What?! I love lake life! Also, unlike my furry foster brother, I only like to get my feet wet and I stay clean at the lake. I guess I just don't like to get my hair wet. I don't know what was up with my furry foster brother, but he was in the lake all the time and I was very curious about that.
Also, I learned about a new sport: it's called "look for chipmunks in the wood piles." It was really fun but I kept getting my long lead caught around trees.
There were loud noises at night at the lake. Foster Mom said they were "fireworks." They made me at bit nervous so I just went into the bedroom and laid on the floor by the bed.
I finally learned a new word "sit." I practiced with Foster Mom all week at the lake and now I can "sit" to take a treat. I also know "Delila Come," but it's hard when there are dogs walking by outside. I just get so excited to see other dogs that I like to "dance" when I see them and, well, of course I do "bark" sometimes too.

Delila is just a doll and is enjoying summer, I mean who wouldn't after the long winter we've had. She spent Memorial weekend in northern MN watching foster mom rake leaves at the lake and resident dog swim in the lake. She wasn't too interested in going in the lake but enjoyed laying in the leaves and watching foster mom.
This sweetie pie is making progress all the time. She will now go into the garage when she is allowed to go for a car ride. She will put her front paws on the back of the SUV and I just help her bottom up. She is a great car rider and rode 4 hours up North and back without a peep.
Delila continues to love hanging out in the yard and going for runs. She also loves just going for walks. Delila now comes up to me when I get out her leash and stands still while I attach it to her. Previously she would run upstairs and lay down with a paw covering her face. This has been a big milestone for her.
Here are 10 things you need to know about this sweet girl:
- She loves to hang out in the fenced in yard.
- She loves to look out the window and watch for people walking by with dogs.
- She will bark at dogs walking by outside.
- She twirls when she is happy or excited (meal times & dogs walking by).
- She doesn't like to be alone (must have another dog home with her or she will bark the entire time).
- She won't go on furniture or the bed but will put her front paws on the bed or couch.
- She gives the sweetest little kisses.
- She is slow to warm up to new people. She wants them to pet her but needs to watch the resident dog first and it is helpful if the person is still and waits for her to come to them.
- She can get startled by sudden movements.
- She doesn't like to be brushed or take baths.
Bonus #11...Foster Mom loves this girl so much!

Delila here. Foster Mom said I could go ahead and write my own update this time. She's been a little slow with updating my page.
I have had a busy three weeks. I have been at three RAGOM Meet & Greets and I just loved all the people who petted me. I even gave out kisses. Everyone kept saying how sweet I am and were surprised I was only 6 years old. Foster Mom reminded people that I need another dog in the house since I am still learning to be a confident dog and it's scary for me to be left alone without a fur buddy.
I also have a new passion... running! Can you believe it! Me the girl who had lots of puppies and didn't want to leave Foster Mom's house the first month. I get to run with Foster Mom and the resident Golden three miles at a time. I always want to keep running, but Foster Mom says we have to have a cool-down walk after the long run.
Foster Mom said to be sure to tell you I just love my walks, too, and I am walking straighter all the time. I do pull a bit so I am supposed to work on that. We get to go on a 20-minute walk every morning before Foster Mom leaves for work. I am also learning something Foster Mom calls "sit." All I know is I get treats when I put my bottom on the floor.
Foster Mom here: Sweet Delila has made so much progress the last couple of months. She is one of the easiest fosters I have had. She does all her potty business outside, crates when I am at work, and has free roam throughout the house the rest of the time. She even has free roam when I am only gone for a couple hours without a problem.
She sleeps on a blanket by my bed all night and only gets up when my alarm goes off. She stays off all furniture but will put her paws on the couch for extra pets.
Delila gets along great with all the dogs she meets. She seems to have an easy going/passive personality. She has been around two females that were more on the dominant/bossy side with her, and Delila seemed to shy away and hang out by herself. She was not the happy girl she has become. Please keep this in mind if your resident female tends to be bossy with other females.

Delila had her first road trip up to Northern Minnesota to spend the Easter weekend with Nana. She did great and I didn't even hear a peep from her the entire 4-hour-ride up and the 4-hour-ride back home. Most of the time she laid in the back with my dog and didn't even look out the window. She is definitely a great car rider.
Nana has a Shih Tzu and Delila sniffed her, but most of the weekend she ignored her. She did try to get the little dog to play, but Nana's dog doesn't like playing with big dogs so she left her alone. Delila checked out the little dog's bed, but found out it made a better pillow than a bed.
Delila had her first spa day on Saturday. She had a bath and a trim. She did so well. At pick up, I was told that she was just a sweetheart.
This brave girl has been going on 15-minute walks every day in the neighborhood. She gets so excited and starts to twirl when I get her leash. She is hesitant to leave the house, but will walk... well, at least zig zag and pull. She seems to be improving but will need guidance and training on her walking skills.
Delila loves to be outside in the fenced in yard. Her favorite pastime is to wait for people to walk by on the path in the back yard. She just loves running or walking next to them as they go by. She is even more excited when someone stops to say hi.
She is definitely a true sweetheart and loves life!

Beautiful Delila is just a joy. She wakes up so happy and gives the sweetest kisses. She sleeps on the floor by my bed and wakes up with the alarm. She continues to do all her potty business outside and is crated when I am gone.
She has free roam of the house when I am home. She loves to spend time outside in the fenced in yard waiting for people to walk by with their dogs. She will sit in the corner and when someone walks by she twirls and runs along side of them. This seems to be her new favorite pastime.
Delila is starting to learn the command of "come" to come inside the house and she will go nicely into her crate when I toss a treat into her crate and tell her to "kennel". She loves to come up for treats and takes treats nicely out of my hand.
She does not sit on command and at this time she does not want to go for walks. She is very happy and content in the yard, but leaving the house to go for a walk is just too scary for her. I am working on getting her used to a harness. We go outside the front door and eventually make it to the mailbox. Then we turn around and go inside. I am hoping that with time this will improve.
Delila had her spay surgery on Tuesday, April 9th. Her surgery went well and her incision is healing. She is such a good patient and has rarely licked the incision.
Her physical exam findings stated that her pupils were widely dilated, no PLR-pupillary light reflex, but she appears to have some limited vision but compensates very well. (Shhh! Don't mention this to Delila because she can spot everyone and every dog walking on the path behind the house and loves to look out the window.)
Her microchip was very hard to find and it was recorded as not having one. This lucky girl will have a second microchip inserted so that it will be easy to find.
This girl is just a love bug and loves to give kisses and be petted. She also loves to snuggle on the floor. She will need a family that has patience for her as she is learning not to be scared of new things and a home with another confident dog to teach her the ropes.

Delila came into RAGOM two weeks ago as a former breeder momma. She is just the sweetest girl and has the most beautiful reddish hair with little locks of curl. She gives sweet little kisses and loves to collect all the toys to bring into her crate.
She is just a joy and so happy. When she is excited she spins and has the biggest smile. She just wants to be loved and in true Golden style get lots of pets from her people.
Miss Delila has never lived in a house before so she is learning all about the Golden life. She has done all her potty business outside but has needed some encouragement as she wishes to spend more time inside the house than outside.
Loud noises and sudden movements can startle her and she will retreat to her "safe spot," which is her crate or the spot right next to her crate. She is very hesitant about the leash and has only gone on walks to the end of the driveway and back into the house.
I have learned that Delila does not like to be alone. She will now bark if left in the crate in the kitchen when it is bed time. So last night she learned to go up the stairs so she could sleep next to my bed. She will also bark if I take my resident dog for a quick walk while she stays home.
She is content as long as I am home or her furry foster brother (resident dog) is home with her. She is crated when left home without me.
Delila had her first vet appointment on Monday, March 25. She is now up to date on her vaccinations. She has her spay surgery scheduled for April 9.
She will be available once she heals from her spay surgery and I have a chance to know what she will need in a forever home.
