Dieter 13-140

Profile

Dieter is an 11-year-old purebred male Golden Retriever. He is very healthy for an 11-year-old. He goes on long walks and goes up and down our stairs without a problem. He gets along fine with all people, cats, and other dogs. He is a very quiet and laid-back dog. He has attached to me, the Foster Dad, and follows me wherever I go. He likes attention but is not a Velcro dog - just likes to be in the same room. He has very good manners - he does not beg, nor does he get on furniture. He had spent his whole life living with his sister and a family with kids and a cat, but his sister recently died from cancer and there were some other family circumstances that made it difficult for his family to care for him any longer.

Dieter continues to adjust real well to his foster home. He was used to an invisible fence and he keeps pretty close when off-leash in the yard. He is very gentle. Loves to be petted but does not come and beg for attention. We have a rabbit that we bring in when it is very hot and Dieter completely ignores him - eats his food right next to the cage.

Dieter came to me with both his ears infected. He seems to be very hard of hearing - the good news is that he is not bothered by fireworks or thunderstorms.
