Hi everybody, it's us - Dixie and Sandy!  We arrived at our foster home last night.  The first thing they did was give us a wonderful bath!!  It felt so good having that massage and getting all cleaned up.  Our new sisters trimmed our nails and cleaned our ears today.  Then we had our coats brushed.  They were saying something about a spa day.  Bummer, they didn't paint our nails :(  Foster Mom said she'll try to get our picture sent in tomorrow so you can see how great we look.  Oh, by the way, we sure look great for being Senior girls!  Some girls just don't show their age!  We've been busy going for walks several times today. They keep saying we are doing great on that house training thing.  NO accidents!!  Foster mom says we're to keep our paws crossed till we get outside.  Just want to say thanks to all the people that helped us on our way to a much more comfortable life.

Dixie is on the left. Sandy is on the right.

Well have I got a lot to tell you! I have been having a wonderful time experiencing so many things I never had before. My foster parents take us out in the boat and I have been learning to swim. Mostly though I like to lay on the tube Mom got for us. Its sort of fun laying on it. I'm just getting used to being in the water and I'm still not real sure I like it. I am working on sitting when asked. I haven't mastered it but I'm getting better. I still am a bit timid but I have come along way. I don't lay down and crouch immediately when someone looks at me. I even walk up to people now. I'm just hoping to be petted!

I love cuddling with my foster mom and dad in bed. I usually sleep with them. They just got a king size bed so that Sandy and I would have more room. We have full run of the house now. I am eating much better. I've even gained a few pounds!

The 4th of July was really hard for me as I don't like the fireworks. Also the thunder bothers me. I think I am more afraid than Sandy but Mom gave me some pills during the fireworks and I felt much better. There are some neighbor kids that I see most every evening on my walk. I love it when they pet me. I tried to play soccer with them one night! I wasn't sure what they were doing but I sure wanted to run in the yard with them!

I'm about 55lbs now and am one gentle lovebug. I am really sweet and I take food from my families hand so gently. Just let me snuggle up to you in bed or on the couch and I am in heaven.
Catch up with you later! Dixie

Hey it's me Dixie. Just thought I'd let you know how I'm doing. My foster Mom said she's having trouble with the digital camera and sending pictures of me. She said that the way they come out you all would have to view them at the cinema as they were so big!! Well anyway I am a dark red 61 lb bundle of love. I am now UTD on my shots have had my blood work done and my spay is scheduled. Whatever that means! My results from my labs aren't back yet but I will let you know. I have some skin allergies and infections so I can't get spayed for 2 weeks. If my allergies are cleared up then its a go. I have not had one single accident in the house. My foster Mom says I'm doing so good. I am a bit picky when it comes to eating. Mom has had to feed me when Sandy is outside or else when I'm in my crate. There's something about eating in front of people that sort of bothers me. Did I tell you how much I love going for walks? Mom says I'm great on the leash, sometimes she uses a thing she calls a gentle leader, but I think I do just fine without it. I get so excited when its time to go! I overheard my foster Mom and the doctor talking about a forever home and they said it would be best if Sandy and I were to stay together. So if anyone would love to have me you gotta take us both!! Later xxx ooo
