Hello from Dixie and Nellie,  I'm Dixie the black colored girl, and Nellie is my sister the red colored girl.  We were at the vet today and Nellie is 39 pounds and I'm a little smaller at 32 pounds.  We were so well behaved we got a treat, that was nice because then we didn't feel the shots.  Boy, the turtles at the vets office scared me so I growled at them, Nellie must have thought I was going to be doing all the protecting because she stood behind me.  I don't think they were just the normal painted turtles that we will see at the lake this summer because they were almost as big as we were.

It has been a busy day at the vets office so I guess it is time for a nap.

We’ve had our Dixie for almost a year now. Lovin’ her to pieces! Who knew it would work out so well. Her two biggest loves, besides everyone in her family, are playing fetch (chuck it) and swimming in the lake retrieving a ball. With the chuck it she’ll just run & run & run. We have to physically put the ball away or she’ll keep flippin’ it at you for you to keep throwing it. Dixie never thinks she’s tired. Dixie loves, loves the water – rolling in the sand, washing off in the lake, dog paddling out to retrieve the ball. Dixie got a plastic kids pool last summer and loves to lay in that to cool off. When it’s not real hot she’ll just stretch out in the grass like these pictures show… many thanks to Ragom and the two foster families Dixie shared her earliest life with.

We knew Dixie was the one for our family..

We could not be more pleased with our RAGOM adoption: Dixie (formerly #11-076, now just Dixie).

She is a gem.  She is so loving, cuddly, smart and just sooo adorable.

Here's another Dixie update!  She loves being outside while her foster dad does yard work and really enjoys chasing tennis balls.  I think our other dogs are disappointed that she is so fast despite her short legs.  

We took a trip to the vet last weekend to get her stitches removed from when she was spayed.  Dixie was a little nervous when we first got there but she behaved and got a treat at the end for being such a good girl.

We don't have any kids of our own but she has had the chance to meet a couple of kids around the age of five and she is so sweet with them.  She gives lots of kisses and loves the attention.  Dixie is still a little shy and timid around new adults, especially men, when she first meets them.  After being slowly introduced she is usually fine and doesn't bark at them anymore.

Dixie has been pretty good about letting us know when she has to go out to the bathroom, she'll start to circle around the house and she even goes downstairs by the door.  She has had a couple of accidents in the house but at least she is smart enough to go to the hard floor! 

This is such a smart pup.  We have taught her to lay down and sit and wait to eat her food until we give her the "okay" command.  Dixie has been quick to learn and is eager to please.  Everyone who has met her wants to keep her, so come see her while you can!
