Dobby (Aris 05-011)

Profile

Aris is here and is as cute as can be!! We think she looks like Dobby from Harry Potter 2. She is around 4-5 months and probably a Golden/Lab/something mix. She has about 3 times the skin she needs!! She hasn’t been around people very much, but seems to be doing very well with us – although she seems to be especially comfortable around our dogs. She also helped us take down our Christmas tree, and as you can see from the pictures, was very excited about it! She is going to the vet later this week, so I’ll send another update then!

Hi I am Dobby (formerly known as Aris). I was adopted about 4 years ago to my then new mom. I am about 4 years old, and am a happy happy dog.

When I came to my new home, I was introduced to another furry friend named Wally. I guess Wally was a rescue from the pound and next to be euthanised. He was a lot older than I so he was pretty mello, he did not play with me much, but that did not stop me from playing with him. I used to be able to run circles around him and underneath him. He could not keep up with me but he was able to give me comfort at night and let me sleep next to him, I wish my mom had a picture of that. Wally got sick 2 years ago and went to doggie heaven. I was lonely for a while but mom kept me busy with puppy school and the doggie park which I LOVE.

I was not lonely for long as my mom also had two furry creatures I guess they call cats. I learned very early that I don't mess with the one with claws, so I picked on the one without claws (who wouldn't). The clawless one ruled the roost however and had a smart hiss that was scary enough. After getting clawed by the other I learned that we could get along as long as I did not get my nose too close. Myself and the cats get along well now and they take turns cuddling with me on cold nights.

My mom introduced me to her friend's pooch "Pepper". We are the same age and we are the best of friends and wrestle everytime we see each other. I get along with everyone I meet, doggy or kitty. I love to roll in the mud and splash around in a mud puddles at the dog park until I am completely covered in mud and won't hesitate to invite the other dogs at the dog park to join me. The airport dog park has lots of mud puddles for all those mud puddle lovers. Their moms and dads aren't very happy when I do that. My mom is not either, she does not like me muddying up her pick up truck. That is why mom hates to take me to the dog park or out for a walk on a wet rainy day. I look for any chance to splash in the mud. I also forget that I have to take a bath when I get home, and listen to my mom grumble under her breath. But HEY I am a dog what does she expect?

Mom loves me so much she investigated my geneology and found that I have Redbone coon hound in my blood and that is why I have so much skin. She is also happy because I don't have the coon hound bark, she learned that Redbones have a soft mello bark, and nothing like a hound. I also have a great health history according to my ancestors so mom may keep me healthy for a long time.

I like to show off how fast I can run and make my mom think I am going to body slam her before I veer off to her side. I love to play and sleep and be where ever my mom is. I am happy my mom found me and she is happy too, I can tell cuz she likes to give me good tummy rubs and back scratches and give me little treats.

I want my foster family who had me the day my mom picked me up, to know that I am healthy, happy and living the dogs life, and I hope my siblings Aubbie and Harvey are having a great life. I wonder what happened to the rest of my brood. Thanks for letting me brag.

Love Dobby ( as in Harry Potters Dobby)

P. S....... these pics are not too recent because my mom still has not gotten my recent pics in the computer, but I look the same......

Aris is still as cute as can be, and growing like a weed! She is not very fond of the Gentle Leader yet, as she tried to drag her nose on the ground the entire length of the first walk we took her on with it – luckily there was snow! She has gotten better each walk thereafter. It takes one of us to hold the leash of our two girls, and the other to hold the leash of Aris on the other side of the street or we all end up in a tangled mess! I’m sure we are quite a sight going down the street!

Aris went to the vet again yesterday and is now 34 lbs. of love!! She was diagnosed with kennel cough and some icky round worms though. So she is being treated for both of these. This vet also thought there was probably hound in her. So hopefully we can rid her wonderful little body of these soon and fatten her up a bit! Other than the coughing and sneezing you would never guess this girl was sick! She loves to play and cuddle. She is a great puppy.
