She’s home! I’m delighted, she’s happy, her brother is happy. Thank you for everything!

"When I Needed You (RAGOM) Most" might have been the theme song when Dolly and all her littermates were rescued at auction and brought into the RAGOM family to find their forever homes.
Dolly Parton now resides in Duluth, MN with her adopted mama, resident dog brother, and three chickens! Upon arrival, she knew she was at home--covered furniture, a basket full of toys, and "Collars of Many Colors" to pick from.
Dolly now barks, "I Will Always love You (RAGOM)." Her big personality will be missed by her foster family who is happy for her new beginning.

Miss Dolly is a 5-month-old Golden Retriever/Cocker Spaniel mix. She has amazingly cute coloration. She is black with grey striations throughout from her head to the tip of her tail. She also has very big paws so it's thought she will be a nice medium sized companion.
On to her puppiness! She is the sweetest girl. She will curl up with you and snuggle or run at full speed with my resident dogs in the fenced yard.
Dolly gathers all the toys and bones in the house and accumulates the loot in her bed. She is so proud of her efforts that she then flops into her bed, rolls around and throws the toys out one by one. She really wears herself out and can entertain herself for short periods. But like any puppy, she is constantly learning.
House breaking is about 75% successful. As soon as she comes out of her kennel in the morning, she knows to go outside. For 30 minute intervals, she goes into her kennel about 2-3 times a day and then goes directly outside. So she's getting the idea.
She has learned to sit for a cookie and lie quietly at your feet while you're having coffee. She has been going on 2 walks a day so she is getting used to walking on a leash. She is a fun puppy. But remember, she is a puppy and needs a lot of patience, attention, and positive training opportunities.
A perfect home for Dolly would include caregivers who love to walk and commit to Dolly getting lots of exercise. A fenced yard and a young resident dog would be great but not required. A tie-out is NOT acceptable for exercise.
She would likely be annoying to a senior dog due to her energy level. Because she is a busy and active puppy, children 5 years old and older would be best so that she won't knock them over and get into trouble.
If you have a dog savvy cat, Dolly would be fine as she thinks they are fun to play with. My cat hisses and swats at her when he's done and she will usually walk away. Some correction still needed. Again, puppy behaviors.
Stay tuned to watch Dolly turn into an adolescent and reach her milestones.
