Duke 09-355

Profile

Well, RAGOM fans, it's time to welcome another addition to the RAGOM family:  Duke is a 70 lbs, 2 year old Golden Retriever-Lab-Blue Heeler mix and just gorgeous!  He's a healthy, happy guy that I love already!  Duke comes from a very loving family and has been well cared for.  Unfortunately, he loves his Mom too much and proved it by howling when she had to leave him home alone -- not a good thing when you live in a condo!

It's sometimes difficult to know what to write in these updates but for Duke I'll quote parts of a letter from his SO:

Duke is a smart, quiet and calm dog.  He enjoys being hugged and would really love to be a lap dog if he was smaller.  He loves to be with his family.  He is very well socialized and can be trusted around children, adults, other dogs, and even our cat.  Duke has always slept in a dog bed in my bedroom.  He sleeps with his red toy that he's had since the first night we had him.

If you're an approved applicant looking for a perfect dog - and live in a detached home! - contact your Placement Adviser ASAP because Duke won't be available for long!

I am writing regarding Duke 09-355 – who we adopted and loved. He passed in 2019 after going through some health issues.  My grandchildren, especially my grandson Chris who lived with us, (now 10) and all the neighbors loved Duke.  He was a big part of their day to day activities.  He was kind, loving and very gentle – especially with children.

The reason for the note is to let you know of his passing, that he led a good, long life, and that he is remembered fondly. Covid has been a tough time and Christopher continues to talk (2 years later), about how much he misses Duke. He recently shared his thoughts in a paper he wrote for school and I thought you would like to see it and some photos. You have our permission to share.

We thank you for choosing us to take Duke home and we loved him very, very much. As Chris said, “he was the best dog ever and our best friend”.

Cheryl and Tim C., and our grandson, Chris.

Duke's new family has already claimed this terrific dog!  Cheryl and Tim were very excited for him to join their pack and he's back living the good life - in a detached home - with lots of neighbor dogs to play with - something I know he'll love!

Thanks for letting me be your FM, Duke!  It was a privilege getting to know you, even if only for a couple of weeks!
