Duke (Darwin 07-497)

Profile

Darwin is a male 6 week old and is being fostered in Aitkin, MN. Now you have heard of "Labradoodles," and "Goldendoodles", and "Cockapoos" etc. Well, here we have a purebred "Labragolden". Black Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever. No matter how you say it, this guy is as cute as a bugs ear. Darwin came from Rhinelander, WI. His mom was too sick to take care of her pups, so his two brothers and him have been hand fed since they were 3 days old. One of the pups stayed in WI and Houdini and Darwin came to RAGOM. Darwin is the more "take it easy type of guy". Darwin and Houdini have to stay together until they are 8 weeks old, so we will keep you updated on them in the next few weeks.

Darwin had his 9 week booster today. The vet checked him out and said he was in very good health and would make someone a great pet. Darwin has the longest, and waviest fur of the two brothers.  He really is the follower of the two. We go for short walks in the morning and wherever Houdini goes Darwin follows. Darwin loves the water. The minute we see the lake, both of these guys charge down the hill and to the beach. He grabs every leaf, every stick, or anything not attached to the ground. Last weekend we took care of one of our former fosters, that had puppies while we had her. These puppies loved her. And she was great with them. They jumped on her, grabbed her ears, and was pestering her all the time. I actually think she liked it. Take a good look at Darwin, how can anyone not want to take this guy home? Darwin is the puppy with the red collar.

Darwin is turning out to be a whirl wind. This guy has more energy. He will go at a full run and grab anything in his way. He will stop turn around and do the same thing, he is so much fun to watch.  Amazingly these guys have not messed (pooped) in the whelping box they have been in. It is 4x6 and they will go all night without any surprises. I come home for lunch and same thing.... nothing. They urinate of course, but I think these guys are going to be easy to house break.   I did find out that MOM was purebred Golden and DAD was purebred Lab. I will keep you updated on this handsome guy.
