On 12/8/2013 our family adopted Enzio 13-374 from RAGOM. We renamed him Duke and lovingly referred to him as “the baby” for many years. Unfortunately Duke developed allergies at 6 months old and we were never able to find the right treatments or medications.

Duke has been such a great dog, fantastic companion to all of us, and our hearts are broken after having to say goodbye to him today.

We will miss him forever but know that he is in a better place.

Enzio and his siblings are almost 7 weeks old. They are growing, playing, and doing fabulously in their foster home. Enzio and his brothers are big pups! I hypothesize that because Erika has a small litter this time, she has big puppies. Mom is about 70 lbs, so I do not anticipate them to be huge Goldens and I think their growth will slow down as they mature.

The puppies are being weaned from their momma and are eating 3 meals of dry kibble with a tablespoon or so of wet food per day. They had a stool sample checked last week and were positive for Giardia, an intestinal parasite. They were treated with a 3-day course of dewormer and once completely weaned, will be treated with an antibiotic/antiparasitic and retested to make sure the parasite is gone.

Enzio is my beautiful light-colored, fluffy boy. He is my sweet, shy guy and this lucky boy hit the jack pot this weekend. He will be going home with a wonderful family in a couple weeks and will have 3 kids and 2 adults to give him all the attention he deserves!

Original Initial Bio:

Hello, world. My name is Enzio and I am a 5-week-old Golden Retriever that came into RAGOM with my momma and my brothers and sister from a breeder who decided to retire. First, I want to thank everyone who has been sending me such cool things! My favorite things to do are to eat, play, and poop, so all the extra food, toys, and towels - to name just a few things - have made life easier for foster mom.

My siblings and I are doing very well in foster care. I have the lightest coat of all the puppies. I am just an adorable little ball of fluff. I am sweet, cuddly, and love people and other animals. I love to chase around the other dogs in my foster home that are scared of little old me (hehe).

  • Enzio and his siblings were born on 10/9/13 and will be ready to go to their forever homes the first weekend in December. They will all be spayed/neutered and have their first set of puppy shots
  • Enzio and his siblings will have been introduced to many different people, cats, and dogs in their foster home. He will need continued socialization and obedience training to be the best dog that he can be.
  • We have started attempting to potty train the puppies, but they still have many accidents at this age and will need continued training in this area in their forever homes. They are not able to hold it all day long between 2-4 months of age and will need someone able to come home and let them out at midday for potty breaks.
  • If there are children in the home, please keep in mind that puppies love to chew, nibble on fingers and toes, and have a lot of energy. If you have small hands that you are worried about being nibbled on, then a puppy may not be for you.
  • These guys and gal may be small now, but they grow quickly into big dogs who need training and a family who can commit to them for a lifetime. They will be your best friend for life, but need to go to families willing to give them a forever home for the next 10+ years.
