Maxwell, aka Mighty Max, is quite the guy. You never have to wonder where he is because he is always beside you. This beautiful Golden is the friendliest fellow around. Max and I went to the vet on Friday where the cute, young vet micro-chipped him and gave him a good check-up. He said "This is a great dog!" He is in excellent health, weighing in at 60 pounds and the vet thinks he will always be a slim dog. He checked his blood levels and they are at the correct level so the meds he takes are working the way they should. Max has had no seizures since entering foster care.
Max loves to play fetch with a tennis ball, play with squeaky toys and retrieve over and over. He is great in the house, completely housebroken and chews only on his dog toys. We are not crating him when we are gone and have not had any problems. He is not a counter-surfer and barks only to greet you when you come in. He is energetic but not hyper-active and is friendly to kids, adults and other animals. We are becoming very fond of this great guy!! Max will do nicely in a home with kids and other pets or as an only pet. Please email placement

Max is doing well here in Iowa. He is getting along great with our resident Golden, Maren and Shih-Tzu Yosi. He is totally ignoring our four Ragdoll cats and they are also ignoring him. He is energetic and very needy of attention. He appears very healthy and I think he would do great as an only pet or with others, as long as he gets a lot of human attention. He slept nicely on the floor of our bedroom all night. He wanted to nap on the couch but jumped off when I asked him to and laid on the floor. Since in foster care, no seizures noted. He takes his meds nicely in a slice of cheese. Max is a beautiful dog and ready to be in his forever home.
