Dylan 08-330

Profile

I would love to introduce you all to Dylan, a new member of the RAGOM family. Sorry about not having a picture available yet (our camera broke). I will get a picture up as soon as I can. Here is the information on this wonderful new foster we have. Dylan is a 5 year old PB that weighs 89 lbs. He is a dark golden in color with a little graying around his eyes. He is totally house trained and sleeps on the floor at the end of our bed. He was vetted today so he is totally UTD on everything and microchipped. Since he has already been neutered he is ready to find his forever home. The vet said he could stand to lose about 10 lbs but he's not considered severely overweight so he can do it gradually.

Dylan has been trained at some point in time. He can sit, shake, lay down, wave goodbye. He pulls a little on the leash, but we are starting him on the Gentle Leader (which he is not used to yet). I don't know if he is crate trained but since he is house trained he has full run of our house. Dylan was surrendered due to the original owners having a lifestyle change. He does well with other dogs and with little kids (we have a 3, 6, and 13 yr old).

Dylan is a VERY mellow dog. Every once in a while he will get a little excited but he has never been rambunctious. He loves to play with tennis balls but does not chew on stuffies. He doesn't act interested in them. He had the works done on Sunday (bath, brush, nail trim, ear cleaning) so once he has his teeth brushed he will be the most handsome dog on the block. :)

Dylan would be perfect for any family that wants a relaxed dog that can go with the flow. He would be good with kids (I don't know how he would do if kids were hanging on him. Our kids have never done it.). He is a great dog looking for his perfect family. So if Dylan has caught your attention let placementatragom [dot] org know and we can arrange a visit. Thanks so much for reading about this wonderful new addition we have!

Updates

Just a quick update. Dylan is still the best house guest ever! He has come out of his shell a little more and is playing with our resident dog Lennon and his foster sister Layla 08-363. He still is doing very well with his commands and is enjoying his time here. I was able to snap a couple more pictures of him. I took them through the door so he didn't run for the hills like he usually does.

Dylan is so sweet and a cuddly big lug (I like to call him that). He is still looking for his forever home so if you have room for one more Dylan would make an excellent addition. Like I said before, he's the whole package. Enjoy the pics and I will keep you posted on Dylan. Thanks for reading up about him.

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I was able to get a couple pictures of Dylan so you can put a face with his name. He does not like his picture taken. Every time he sees a camera he literally runs the other way. He will not go near you if you have a camera. I have yet to come up with a reason for him not liking cameras but I am thankful I got a couple.

Dylan is still a wonderful house guest. He continues to sleep on the floor at the end of our bed. He will follow you around but will not bug you, he just wants to be near you. He greeted our family tonight without any problems. No jumping! Lennon could take a few lessons from him. He was a little grabby when I fed him a hamburger tonight, but I think with a little correcting this will disappear since he did better with the next bite after he was corrected. He does not resource guard his food or his toys (though he seems only interested in tennis balls). We haven't had any major problems between him and our resident golden. Dylan has tried to mount Lennon a couple times but with correction he stops real quick. He listens very well.

Dylan has been on the Gentle Leader and does a little better with each walk. Our daughter tried to take him for a run and he gave her a look saying "I am not running anywhere". So an avid runner he is not. He will run around in the backyard but nothing much more than that. He loves the tennis ball so he will run to retrieve it. Actually he 'prances' to retrieve it. So cute! We had some people setting off fireworks down the street and he does not like this. He will retreat upstairs to the bedroom and hide his head under the bed. Other than that and some storm anxiety (he does the same thing as with the fireworks) he doesn't seem to be afraid of anything else.

Now that you have a face to put with his name, do you think that Dylan would be a perfect match for your family? If so contact placementatragom [dot] org to arrange a visit. Dylan would love to see you!
