Echo 09-450

Profile

When I saw the pictures of Echo I just knew that I had to foster her until she could find a forever home. She is soooooo pretty:) Echo is either a Flat Coated Retriever or a cross between a Golden and maybe a Black Lab. She has the exact look of a Golden but black. I've only had her a day but everyone who sees her is immediately taken by her good looks.

She was found as a stray, but the Humane Society that took her in said a lot of families are just dumping their dogs because they can't afford them any longer and a lot of shelters are full to capacity. I know she must have been a family dog at some point because she is housetrained and very good with kids. She is young and does still jump up on people. She loves people!!!! She is getting along fine with my 3 1/2 year old Golden but with her "young" energy, my dog has had to tell her in her own way to chill out and rest. She know some commands too (sit, down) I think she will be great in obedience, agility, searching games etc. She seems very smart. She strikes me as a farm dog for some reason.....oh yeah, cause she is an early riser:) She does seem to like cars so I wouldn't be surprised if she would chase one. She likes to "de-stuff" toys and pillows and that's another reason I wouldn't be surprised if she is younger than two. She's kind of a clown:) She likes to sit on her hind end and do some kind of cheer with both her front paws:)

Echo got into something that she shouldn't have and has some type of tongue infection. They think maybe a burr got stuck and caused it. She is on med's for that and I am going to bring her to the RAGOM vets to have them check it out too. Her tongue is a bit swollen and she drools because of it. It's not continuous but I keep a towel around so she can wipe her mouth:) She isn't spayed yet either so that will probably be done in the next week or so. We will get her ready for her new start in life:) We are so lucky to have such great vets available for our RAGOM pups, and the financial support to make it all possible.

Echo won't be available to be adopted until her spay surgery but if you want to meet her, let your placement advisor know and we can set something up.
