Profile

Ethan came into RAGOM from Shanghai via RAGOM's international rescue program. He has epilepsy that is easily managed with daily medication. Ethan likes other dogs but likes people more, so another dog is optional. Children in the home should be age 13+ as Ethan may see kids' toys as his. He has minor resource guarding issues that can be overcome with proper training. Ethan prefers a fenced yard to run in, but if given adequate exercise with walks and other play, he would be fine without a fence.

Ethan was adopted by his wonderful fur-ever family today! He has a mom and dad who adore him, and a very gentle and calm older fur brother, also a Golden, who will help show him the ropes of living the Golden life. This boy has definitely hit the jackpot and we are all so happy for him and his lucky new family! Thanks to all who made this incredible journey possible from China to his fur-ever home.

Ethan recently had a vet visit to reevaluate his history of having a seizure. He has had only one seizure that we are aware of, and that was early on. The vet is now opting to change Ethan's medication from Levetiracetam to Phenobarbital. He has easily made that transition and is doing very well.

The boarding staff enjoyed giving Ethan a break from his kennel space so he could pose with their mascot Chester, who is all dressed up for the season. Here is an adorable picture filled with lots of holiday cheer!

Ethan remains a happy pup while in boarding. Of course for a young pup, he would like more time to play.

He gets very excited to go for his walks. He likes it when he can stop to say hello to other dogs. He also likes to carry a toy or stick, then drop and pounce on it, find it again and prance and hop along as he continues his walk.

Ethan also enjoys rolling in the snow.  Here is a video of Ethan's attempt at a doggy snow angel.

Ethan is hoping for some magic snow, a little twinkle, and for someone to become his holiday Angel. Can that angel be you? Happy Holidays from Ethan!

Ethan is such a cutie pie! As you can see in the video, he sits politely for treats and knows how to shake. He is very food motivated and will train easily with treats. He comes quickly when called! He is very trainable and with some patience, positive methods, and food rewards, he will learn fast.

He has a habit of trying to find things that he shouldn't have, like gloves or pretty much anything that looks interesting, but today I was really happy to see that he could be called away from something and rewarded with a treat.

That great big smile sums up his personality—he is sunny and happy, with lots of puppy high energy, and he is also very snuggly and playful. This adorable boy has had a rough start in this world and deserves the Golden life!

Ethan has had some changes recently. He was adopted out to a nice family, but sadly, he was returned as Ethan and their resident dog were not sharing toys nicely.

Ethan gets along well with dogs, but he was a little growly when the two dogs were playing with the toys. Out of concern for possible resource guarding tendencies, they thought it best for Ethan to find a new home.

Since Ethan no longer has a foster home available, he is staying at a boarding facility in Blaine, MN where awesome volunteers spend time with him and give him walks.

Ethan is still his happy, playful puppy self even while in boarding. He loves the snow, grabbing chunks of it to carry (or eat) while we’re walking. He gets excited to chase leaves and would love to chase the birds.  He will hop like a jack rabbit through the deeper snow.

Ethan is such a smart boy and would love to show you all the tricks he knows. He is very good at sit, down, and shake. He wants to please, especially if treats are offered!

Stay tuned for more updates on Ethan's adventures. I know this goofy guy will worm his way into your heart and mind...how can you resist that face!

Ethan is a gorgeous boy who is a quick learner and wants to please his humans. He has been with us for ten days, and has come a long way from his first day with us.

Ethan had never been walked on a leash, and didn’t like it at first. Today, he sits while waiting for us to get going. He has settled into our daily routine very nicely and now feels more comfortable because he has structure and care in his life.

Ethan is young and loves chasing all the leaves blowing around outside. He is very excited to meet new people and gets along with other dogs.

He's not a fan of being crated, so is babygated in our bedroom at night and is very content being with his humans. He is completely housebroken and lets us know he has to go outside by getting excited.

Ethan is up to date on his shots and in good condition medically and physically, other than a minor ear infection. He know basic commands—sit, shake, down—and learns very quickly.
