Francesca........a beautiful name for a beautiful golden girl. Francesca's gorgeous light coloring is called english creme. It is not rare, but it is definitely striking! Francesca came from a breeder in northern North Dakota who had to place all his dogs. RAGOM stepped up and took all 6 of his goldens in. Way to go RAGOM!!

Francesca is your typical breeder girl, shy, nervous, unsure of what life is going to hand her next. She was doing well in my home until I took her in to be spayed. When I picked her up two days later she had reverted back to her puppy mill ways. It took about four days for her to get comfortable again, but she is back to where she was and is learning more about how to be a well loved golden every day.

I took a little nap in my recliner the other day, and when I woke up Francesca had gathered up all her favorite toys and had them in a semi circle around her. She doesn't guard them, but if you take one away, she will go get it and put it back in the circle in front of her....too cute! She LOVES chews, rawhide, real bones, nylabones, hooves, you name it. She was messing with all the stuffed "babies", so I gave her the frog and told her it was hers. She promptly destuffed it. She has not harmed another "baby". She just needed to get that out of her system, I guess.

She is living here with two 9 week old dachshund pain in the...uh hem....puppies, one 12 week old kitten, one old golden, and 4 other little ankle biters. She does well with all of them. If they bug her too much she just gets up and moves to a different spot.

Francesca loves to go outside, but she loves being in the living room, laying beside the recliner, so you can drop your hand down and pet her constantly......ah, the life of a retired puppy mill momma!!!

Now that you have been introduced to Francesca, let me introduce you to Frannie!! Frannie has overcome her puppy mill ways and has become a loving member of my family.  Frannie is still learning how to be a great four legged fur kid, and because of her past must live with another medium to large dog so she can continue to learn how to be the best dog she can be. Frannie lives with 5 cats ranging in age from 5 months to 20 years old. She also lives with 7 other dogs from 4 months to 12 years old, from 5 lbs to 75 lbs, and she does well with all of them. (Yep, I'm that crazy cat lady that lives down the street from you!) I live in a small town in Iowa and seem to be the only rescuer in town, all the unwanted fur kids live with me until I can find them their very own loving home ;)

OK....back to the good stuff about Frannie! She is a gem! She is so eager to learn it is just amazing! She is very well behaved inside and outside. She LOVES to be with her human, if she can lay on the floor by you and be petted at the same time, she is in absolute heaven. She still likes to get all her toys and put them in a circle in front of her. She does not resource guard toys or food. She does not counter surf. She has a wonderful recall, but because of her past, she must go to a loving home with a physical fence. I don't have access to any small children, but I think she would be fine with kids 10 years or older. I have a special needs girl across the street from me who comes over frequently because she loves my dogs, and they all love her, Frannie included. I found out that Frannie's birthdate is 12-12-09, so she is creeping up on being 2 years old.

Frannie loves her kennel and goes in willingly. She used to come flying out of her kennel when I opened the door, but she has learned to sit and wait until I give her the OK. Once out she has also learned to sit and wait until I open the sliders for her to go outside. Like I said earlier, she is so easy to train and so willing to learn, she is truly a gem of a dog! She eats every last crumb of her food, and like all my fur kids, loves her treats! Frannie does not try to get on the furniture, but will come up if I invite her. She only barks when the other dogs do, and then she has a rich sounding bark not ear splitting & obnoxious like my dachshund puppies!

Frannie-bananie, as she loves to be called, is ready, willing, and able to come to your home. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is house trained, but as with all dogs, will need a refresher course when she gets to your house and learns all about your lifestyle.

If you would like to learn more anout Frannie-bananie, let your placement advisor know and they can hook us up. Frannie-bananie and I hope to hear from you soon!
