09/11/2013:
Welcome our new RAGOM boy from South Dakota – Champ 13-264!
Champ is a purebred Golden who was found as a stray and taken to a shelter, no one claimed him, so, this young man made the long trip here to Brooklyn Park to join the RAGOM family and begin his journey on finding his forever home. BIG thanks to Katie, his chauffeur!
Champ met our resident dog Maksymilian, RAGOM boy Beaux (aka Duke 08-100) and resident cats Buttons and Harley with ease. In fact, within a couple of hours he and Maks started playing.

Champ is about 3 years old according to the vet. He weighs 77 pounds and that is a good weight for him. Champ is microchipped, is on Frontline and heartworm preventive. Champ developed a little cough so he is on antibiotics and will be up to date on his shots before we go to Goldzilla.
We have only had Champ for a few days and this is what we know so far
- Good with both dog and cats
- Walks great with a flat collar and leash
- Destuffing toys is fun, but chewing his Nylabone is better
- No resource guarding either food or toys
- Plays nicely
- Loves fetch
- Greets people enthusiastically – four on the floor is not his strong point
- Loves to be by his peeps
- Can be an only dog or would do great with other animals too
- Not sure about needing a fenced-in yard
- Working on the basic commands and recall
- Has not been kid tested, but I am not anticipating any problems
- Takes treats very gently
One thing that Foster Dad (FD) can tell you is Champ loves to play ball!
Come see us at Goldzilla
Sunday, September 15th
Long Lake Park in New Brighton.
We will be at the Foster Showcase tent at 11:30am.
I am sure that FM & FD will have many new stories to tell you about this GReat boy!
Champ is a handsome, wonderful dog who will share a lifetime of love and devotion with his furever family – could that be you???
