Gordon 06-343

Profile

I picked Gordon up this afternoon and the first thing I noticed is how smart he is. He is so willing to learn and wants to be good; he just needs some time and a loving family. We will work with him everyday until he is adopted and I know he will be a wonderful dog. He needs to be neutered but besides that he is in excellent health. He is great with other dogs, cats and kids. Gordon has a lot of potential and will make a wonderful pet.

Gordon continues to be incredibly affectionate. It is actually hard to take his picture because he won’t get that far away from you. He weights 55 pounds now and was neutered this week. We have been walking about a mile a day so he gets lots of exercise and is getting really good on the leash. He does pull when he gets excited but for the most part he walks nicely. He is learning sit and come. He is a pleasure to have around. He is a beautiful dark red color and has the most incredibly expressive eyes. You can see how much he loves attention.

Gordon is 18 months old and not neutered. He was a stray found in Waterloo IA in July. We had just dropped off Mick, our other foster dog, and heard that Gordon’s situation was desperate so we picked him up on the same trip. He was skinny, wild and had terrible manners. It is amazing how different he is in just a couple of weeks. Gordon has become so loving and sweet. He loves to snuggle. He has a lot of energy, and we take him out to walk and play a lot with our dogs. He has adjusted so easily. He loves our dogs, the kids and our cats. We live on a farm and I sometimes take him to town with me to walk there. I tell everybody who sees him he is in training and they all think he is a beautiful dog.

He is up to date on all his shots and will be visiting the vet for a well puppy checkup tomorrow. Gordon’s story is kind of a Cinderella type story. He has come from living on the streets starving to being an incredible dog and will make a wonderful addition to a family especially a family with kids.
