Greetings,

I'm pleased to introduce Gracie... she is 3 years old and just about the cutest little girl you ever did see.  She needs to lose a few pounds but has been working on it... she weighs in at 80.5 pounds and is a blonde Golden Retriever.  Gracie lost her mommy and was given up by her dad because of his travel schedule.  She has a bit of an issue with chewing things but it's mostly grabbing things that don't belong to her.  She loves to play rough, loves tug, loves walks and walks like a little dream, she likes to carry her own leash when on a walk.  On her visit to see "Doc" our vet, I had my son meet me at the clinic with Gracie.  I arrived and he was standing outside of the building I asked him where Gracie was and he said inside... well, I entered the building and there she was behind the counter loving every minute of the hugs and kisses and girl talk that was going on... she made herself right at home.  Silly Girl.

Gracie has been living with us for about two weeks and she is a total lover... She loves to snuggle and be close a total velcrow girl.  She is smart as a whip but sometimes just a little too smart...  Sunday, Halloween she was standing at the top of the basement steps crying because I was down the basement doing the dreaded laundry... Foster dad told her she could go down if she wanted to and after she had permission she started going up and down the stairs.  As I mentioned we keep a close eye on Gracie because she is only 3 years old and still has alot of puppy in her so she will chew things that don't belong to her and we have alot of hockey equipment in our basement so I really have to keep an eye on her now...  she does respect baby gates.  She doesn't beg, she only tries to help herself if she is totally rambunctious and excited.  She loves teenaged boys.. She thinks they all crush on her... isn't that funny.

As you can see in the pictures, Gracie has a black spot on her tongue... people say that's a sign of a smart dog... she also has a side kick in both pictures... Miss Winnie...

When Gracie arrived she was just finishing up ear medicine for an ear infection.  I'm trying to treat her with Sweet Potato kibble instead of the regular dog food as it might just help a bit.  Gracie also walks like a teenaged girl in flip flops... she sways her back hips and her feet swish on the floor.  I had her to see Doc who did do xrays.  Here is what Doc said:

Given she is 3yrs of age, unlikely to be a clinical problem in the near future.  If no hip pain on exam and no pain/fatigue/slow rising after heavy exercise, she is unlikely to have problems until well into geriatric years, if then.  At the present she does not have a problem and does love to walk, jump, run and play.

Gracie is in Grand Forks, North Dakota, if you are interested in Gracie, please contact placement.
