Welcome to Gulliver's World, or as we call him, Gully! This 75 pound blonde boy is 1 1/2 years old. He is up to date with all his shots and is now neutered. He comes to RAGOM from the Adel Iowa Humane Society. He was there 3 months and before that was locked in his crate 9 hours a day while the family was at work. This is his history. Now his present world......

Gully is the sweetest boy who loves to cuddle and be petted. If he isn't getting the attention that he feels he deserves, he does hit with his paw :) He now knows how to go for walks on the leash, stay, come (sometimes) and shake. He is a big lug and we are in love with him. For a guy who does not have a great history, he is extremely smart and loveable. His personality is a hoot. He is not destructive at all but he does bring us things that we don't necessarily want at the moment, for example presents from under the tree, stuffed animals, and clothes! He has never destroyed anything and when we are not home, we do not crate him. He loves to be right in the middle of things, for example when we play games on the floor he lays on the board, or on the pile of cards.

Gully will need to be in a home with no other pets. We have a Golden and Gully gets angry if we give Briscoe any affection or attention. We assume that it goes back to not having the attention that was needed in the first year and a half of his life. He is much better about accepting Briscoe now but we still remain cautious. He has never showed any kind of aggression to people. He loves people!

Thanks for listening! I will update his life in a few days!

Just thought I would forward some pictures of our "crooked" dog. He was in our local parade yesterday and has made himself the center of our lives. His goofy personality, combined with what I am convinced is a Husky influence, makes him aloof and at the same time terribly in need of affection. He is quite the water dog (although he doesn't swim as well as a true Retriever) and likes to become part of the flocks of geese and ducks that inhabit our bay - just swimming along with them like he's one of them. He jumps on the trampoline with the kids and plays Tarzan with the climbing rope.

Thanks again -
