Meet Harold!  Harold is an 11 year old Golden Retriever/Australian Blue Heeler mix.  He was found in the parking lot of a grocery store and taken to the Albert Lea Humane Society.  He is neutered and UTD on shots.  Harold is mostly blind and doesn't hear well, so he needs extra TLC and patience on walks and a safe environment in the home and backyard.

Harold came to me last week all freshly bathed and handsome thanks to Woof Dah! Inc in Burnsville (Harold and I say thanks again for the complimentary bath!!) He has been adjusting to his new "temporary" home just great!   There have been a few hiccups...Harold does NOT like his crate.  He went in and snuggled in the fleece blankets with no problem the first day, but the second day barked, whined, and panted very anxiously when I put him in.  So I tried gating him into the kitchen and living room, and he has done great all week!  No accidents or chewing.  One issue was I forgot to shut the bathroom door before I left one day.  Oops.  Harold managed to shut the door on himself in there, so was trapped all day.  Luckily all he did was chew up some toilet paper...I found him curled up on the bath mat snoozing away!

Harold is a sweet senior guy that loves to snuggle.  When I pet him he pushes his head under my arm and leans into me.  He is so happy to get love and care, he gives me lots of kisses to show his appreciation.  Even though he can't see well he finds me in the kitchen when I'm doing dishes or cooking and lays at my feet just to be near me.  He would be a great addition to a low-key household without many stairs (or at least the ability to stay on one floor).  Harold gets along wonderfully with my resident golden retriever Luna, and has been tested with cats and did great with them too!  He hasn't been tested with children yet, but I will do that soon and let you know how it goes.

Harold hopes someone has a forever home for him!  He has so much love to give the right family!

Just checking in to let everyone know how Harold is doing!  He is a great part of our household--very easygoing and lovable!  I had to bring him back to the vet for some blood work they forgot to do, and luckily everything is just fine.  Harold continues to do very well on his pain meds and glucosamine--he is much more peppy on walks and around the house.  I can't wait for when the snow melts so he can play more in the backyard!  Right now the icy snow is a little too treacherous for him, with his limited sight.  I also can't wait to take him to the lake and see if he likes swimming!

Harold seems to be enjoying life more and more every day.  His tail wags a lot now and he is such a snuggler!  Please contact RAGOM if you think he would be a good fit for your family!
