Harriet went home to her new family today. She is such a lucky girl because she'll have two girls to dote on her, and two other dogs to play with. I could not have dreamed of a better family for her. :-)

Miss Harriet is a little SWEETHEART! Fosters are not supposed to have favorites, but I have to be honest and say she is one of our favorites. She is so darn smart and fun, and a little love bug. This morning when we practiced, I had her lie down and stay, then I backed up and waited. I expected her to wiggle around and break her stay in seconds. She just laid there with her eyes glued on me for what felt like an eternity—what a good girl! Whenever we come into the house, I have her do a command or two, and if I head for the door and don't run through a couple, she sits and waits for me--she loves it! I think she'll totally get into agility or therapy dog training too--he is so good at following instructions.
I had my niece and her husband over for dinner a few nights ago. They have a daughter who is going to be 3 years old in March. The puppies were so well-behaved—mellow, and they seemed captivated by her. Kids can sometimes make younger dogs go nuts, so this was such a nice surprise to see how she responds to a toddler. :-) A good friend who is an older gentleman in his 70s stopped over today. He sat on the couch and she went over to him and looked at him expectantly. I set her next to him and she laid her head on his leg and took a nap.
Harriet was supposed to get spayed today, but we found out she has an upper respiratory infection. She and Billy have been a little fussy with eating the last couple of days, and that is probably because of the infection setting in. She has an appointment with the vet and will get the infection checked and her booster vaccinations. We’ll reschedule her spay as soon as the vet says it is OK to have the procedure done.
She is a SWEETIE and I find myself smiling whenever I think about her. She met a family today and they love her, even though it was a noisy setting and she was not at her best because of her respiratory infection. We are going to meet again next weekend.
