This is new foster mom. Herky was moved to a foster home with a large fenced in yard for him to burn off some energy. He has been with us for a few days now and here is what we have learned about him:

- Herky is a huge lover! He is really good at getting attention. His favorite attention seeking move is to come up to you when you are sitting and put both paws on your lap. He sits straight up in a majestic pose and flashes his big brown eyes at you. Since he is irresistible, this gets the job done for him. His other trick is to jump in bed with you. This is OK in our home so we have had lots of cuddling.

- He is wonderful with other dogs and children. You can see how he was playing house with me and grandkids under the "big oak tree in the woods" aka the house plant.

- He can run as fast as a speeding bullet! He needs lots of exercise and I think he would love to be a running partner with someone. Don't count on him to be an excuse for you not running far however as he will hold his own in endurance. He acts much younger than 9 when outside but chills like an older guy in the house. HIs exact age is undetermined since he was unclaimed at the human society.
- He is discovering toys but only chews on things we give him. A perfect house guy, he is very well behaved in the house, liking to lazily sleep, look out the windows, be with you in whatever room you are in and he is learning to beg for people food from our 2 resident dogs. (sorry bout that) He is completely house trained, has free roam and non-destructive.
-He is absolutely stunningly gorgeous! With his dark red wavy hair, feathered front legs and tail, white paws and chest and freckled nose he could be a calendar model! He is the perfect weight for his size. No known health issues except some flaky skin that he had when he first came into RAGOM which seems to be clearing up.
- When he goes outside in the fenced yard he loves to look for critters. Garden exploring has been a big past time in the past few days. He hasn't caught anything yet. He loves to come back in the house so no problem getting him to come in. We think he may have been mostly an outdoor dog so he is loving the creature comforts of the house.

- He did take the opportunity to dart out the door when left a little too open by a grandchild yesterday. He ran very fast for quite a ways. We followed in the car but he did not want to come to us. He eventually tired and I tricked him into thinking I was going to go inside a house so he came right to the door with me. He will need to be watched very carefully when opening doors. A fenced in yard would be best for him.

-This is an easy guy to fall in love with!
