Honey 08-047

Profile

Honey arrived in Duluth late yesterday afternoon. She is a sweetie. The Ladies greeted her and have shown her around the house and the backyard where they had a good sniff. She is not spayed and has an appointment on Friday afternoon for a pre-spay checkup. It looks like she is up to date otherwise. A bit on the pudgy side but she will no longer have food available at all times. She will be learning about morning and evening meal times. Drinking water is an event for Honey. There is a bit of splashing with her paw before she puts her entire muzzle into the water dish where she gulps. But the floor is getting washed thoroughly thanks to sweet Honey.

Honey spent the day at home with the ladies and was sound asleep when Joe got home.  The day was uneventful...nothing chewed, no messes.  Just snoozing.  Trixie and Honey have done some wrestling in the snow.  She seems to like being in a multi dog family.  She slept in bed with us last night and used my back as her pillow.  She asks to go out by sitting at the door.  She seems to be healthy and will get the once over tomorrow.  Joe tried to get her to fetch but she was more interested in sniffing the deer poop.  More as we get to know her better.

Honey went to the vet today for her pre-spay check up. She is in good shape but over weight and is scheduled for her spay next Thursday. Honey suffers from yeast and bacterial infections of both ears and will be treated with antibiotics and ear wash. It also appears that she has an allergic skin condition that we hope will be taken care of with Omega 3 fatty acid capsules and a special diet of Salmon and potato Prescription Diet dog food. It sounds like she will be eating better than we are. We will see how that works and the vet will re-examine her next week.

Honey met our housekeeper today who fell in love with her. She even put up with Honey and Trixie going in and out to wrestle in the snow...both coming covered in snow. Both should sleep well tonight. Honey slept with us again last night.
