Hope 07-694

Profile

Welcome to Apple Valley and RAGOM... Hope. Hope is 11 weeks old.  She came from a man in Aitken that could not find homes for Hope and Faith. Yes, I know what you are thinking, they are black labs. Not really, Mom was a pure black lab and Dad was a pure Golden Retriever. Thus they have come to RAGOM to find a better life.

Hope was picked up in Blaine this afternoon. After a long car ride she made it home to meet the Newfoundlands, Coal and Mistee Bubbles, the Golden Retriever Rescue, Sophee Bear, and our other foster Golden Retriever Pumpkin (07-661). Hope did just fine, a little worried about the BIG BLACK Bears, but in the end, things are going fine.

We were told that Hope had her first set of shots, so we did receive a nice hot bath and Frontlined her this afternoon so she smells pretty. We are going to have LOTs of company these next few days so we will see how she does with lots of small kids and lots of stimulation. We are looking forward to getting to know Hope and giving her the perfect life.

If you are interested in this little love, please send a note to placementatragom [dot] org.

Updates

Sunday, January 6, 2008

Hello to a new year and I am very sorry for not doing an update sooner.  Hope had a marvelous time with Auntie Kimmer on Saturday at the PetSmart event.  Thank you to all of her followers for visiting her.  Foster Mom and Dad cannot wait to meet a few of you.

Other than that – Hope is as great as ever  - it has been 5 days since she pottied in the house.  She definitely is not potty trained; I think we are more trained than she is.  But we will help the family out and let them know what is working for us.

See you on Saturday, 1-12 at the Burnsville PetCo from 11am to 1pm – please come and visit her and Niki 07-661 (brown dog in pictures).

Hope will be going to PetSmart to meet any families interested in loving a black little puppy who loves to cuddle.  Trust me, you will not be sorry when you meet this girl!

Hope does not need much, she is pretty low maintenance.  If you like to play for 15 minutes she will promise to go and take a nap afterwards.  She is a great night-time sleeper!  She sleeps from 9 at night to 7 now.  Yep, she just loves to cuddle up in bed with you and sleep away.

I don’t think she will need a fence as long as you start border training right away.  She loves her humans and wants to please them.  She still needs work on potty training, but she made it two days in a row now.

So please come and visit Hope January 5th from 11 to 1 at PetSmart in St. Louis Park – she will be there with her Aunty Kim, since Foster mom will be in South Dakota doing a home visit.

I just love the devil eyes in the attached picture – she was peeking over the couch because she had no idea where we were.  But not to worry, we were not far away.  The other one is Hope and Niki 07-661 - Hope was so glad to see her mother figure Niki that she decided she would chew her bone while pretend dog mom slept.

Hope continues to thrive in our home and is finally starting to show some interest in potty training. She definitely gets the hint that she must go once you are outside, but she still has not figured out how to tell us she needs to go out. But we are getting there.

Sleeping at night is a joy with her, she goes to bed at 9 and does not get up until 5:30 when I wake her up to go potty. I am pretty sure she would sleep till 6 if you let her, maybe even longer. Rick, her foster dad works from home and I have included a picture of where she sleeps. Yep she insists that she be right next to you, so in a chair she goes. I am sure she would sleep on the floor, but hey, we spoil our fosters.

Hope was so excited to see Pumpkin/Niki 07-661 today; they just sat and gave each other kisses. It was the cutest thing on earth. That is really all I have for now, she is still looking for that dream family and we cannot wait to talk to you, so please, give her a chance, you will NOT be sorry. Send a note to placementatragom [dot] org.

Hi Everyone. Mistee Bubbles, the rescue Newfoundland here. You have not seen me because I am scared of cameras but I wanted to tell you all about Hope.

Hope is a really good girl, she loves to sleep next to you and she sleeps ALL night long. I love this because I hate it when we have to get up in the middle of the night to go potty. But not with Hope, she just sleeps and sleeps and sleeps. Mom says she goes potty at 9 and than gets up at 5:30 with her to get ready for work. At that time she brings everyone out.

Hope is a very vocal playing puppy. Her and Sophee Bear, the rescue Golden, love to play, whenever they play you hear Hope making these growling noises. Niki AKA Pumpkin 07-661, hates it when Hope talks and tries to get over to them to referee. But if you have read about Pumpkin you know it takes a while for her to get anywhere.

Hope is still looking for her forever home; she does not need much, just a lot of love and some patience to get her through the puppy stage. Hope still is not potty trained but we are working on it and she does take items she is not supposed to. But a good puppy class will help cure all her little puppy issues, because that is all they are, little puppy issues.

There has to be someone out there that wants to love a cute little black dog? She is really cute and fun! Please contact Placementatragom [dot] org so Hope and Mom can meet you!

I asked mom to put a picture of Hope and Sophee sleeping in my kennel because I think it is cute and then she added another one of Hope sleeping With Connie – I just love how Hope things she is a baby! The last one is Hope chewing a bone and Grandma Coal and Sophee Bear watching over her.

Forever yours, Mistee Bubbles.

Hope went to see the vet today and she is in perfect health! She has perfect ears, perfect feet and perfect teeth. She also weighed in at 23 pounds. Dr. J. thought she would be a pretty big girl because of the size of her feet. She also thought that she had never seen the outdoors because her paws are so smooth and silky! I have to believe this since you put her outside and she immediately wants to be held. But then again, when does she NOT want to be held? She is all about laying in your lap for love and attention. In fact, right now she is sleeping on a chair next to me, because she felt she needed to be in my lap for a nap. I also included a picture of my 17-year-old son and Hope taking a nap last night – this is Hope’s favorite place in the world, real close to someone.

Hope did great last night. She was fast asleep at 8 and slept all the way through until 6 this morning and then I got her out of the nice warm bed. Yes, she is sleeping on the bed. But I am guessing by next week she will be down with the other dogs. Potty training is not going real well but she understands that when we go out we go potty so we can go back in.

I got some pictures of Hope with her foster sister Niki (07-661). They have sure bonded in the past 12 hours. Hope also thinks Coal is pretty cool too. Hope is ready for a family of her own to love. She promises to give more love to one family than you can imagine. Hope is very versatile – she has totally gone with the flow here. There is no stopping this little girl. Are you ready to call this Black Golden yours? I know she would love to find a home for the New Year! Please contact placementatragom [dot] org so we can meet!
