8/10/05: Meet Ike. He is one handsome boy even though he doesn?t look like the typical RAGOM dog. He is ? Golden Retriever, ? Border Collie, and ? Springer Spaniel. He looks like a black Golden Retriever! He does have a bit of white on his chest and an even tinier bit by his nose. He is 17 months old and weighs about 85 pounds. His previous owner chose Ike to be a therapy dog at the school where she works. However, there were some insurance issues and Ike wasn?t allowed at the school. He then became her pet. His previous owner works long hours and goes to school in the evenings. Ike wasn?t very happy being left alone these long hours. Ike?s owner knew he would be happier in a home that could devote more time to him and that?s when she turned to RAGOM for help.

It?s very apparent that Ike?s previous owner loved him very much and took great care of him. He is neutered and up to date on all his shots. He will visit the vet on Friday just for a quick check up. Before surrendering Ike to RAGOM, his owner took him to be professionally groomed. He had a bath, his ears cleaned, his teeth brushed, his feathering trimmed and nails clipped. So, he not only looks good, he smells good!

In the few short hours I?ve had Ike, he has been a complete gentleman. Our one year old Golden and Ike became instant friends and are having a blast playing with all the toys that came with Ike. Ike is completely housebroken and will even potty on command! He is crate trained and has been through several obedience classes. He knows several commands and listens very well, especially considering he?s in a new home. His new family should be willing to continue his training.

Ike?s ideal forever family will have lots of time and attention to give him. They will be willing to play ball with him, take him on walks and do other fun things with him to burn off some of his puppy energy.
