Isis 09-434

Profile

Isis is at home in Fridley.  We brought her here from a family that was leaving the country because of immigration issues.  They got Isis from a breeder in California – an English Crème Golden, two years old, weighs 58 pounds, and has a beautiful disposition. Gets along with everyone and all dogs. No guarding issues.

Isis went to the vet today and is now up to date on all shots.  She was not spayed, but has an appointment for Monday.  When she had her appointment today, they discovered allergies and now is on medication for her ears. She also has a little over bite, but very slight – hardly noticeable and no problem eating or drinking anything.

When we got Isis, she was not housebroken, but is learning more every day and has not had an accident since she arrived.  We gated her in the kitchen overnight and she had no accidents.  Now we are increasing her free roam area every few hours and she is doing wonderfully.  We walk her every day – and does not pull when she is on a Gentle Leader.  She is very good with children, all ages.  We have a three year-old grandchild here every day and they love each other!  Clearly, she is very smart and has already picked up on most basic commands.

We are bringing Isis to Byron, MN on Saturday for the Leashes and Leads event.  Looking forward to seeing you all there!

More updates soon.

Isis here, wanting to update my story. My mom says I'm a perfect dog. I am full of love and don't cause a bit of trouble.  All I want is to be by my Mom. I don't lose sight of her very often. I'm hardly ever alone since she takes me to work with her every day. I love my daily walks, I need a gentle leader because otherwise I pull too much. Last summer I went to the cabin every weekend. I thought all goldens loved the water but not me! I won't even put my feet in the water when we go to the sandbar! We will see about next summer. Maybe some day I will learn to love the water like most other goldens do. My mom and Dad have learned to like it though because my light coat stays VERY clean! Just want you all to know.... I'm very loved. Until next time..... Isis

Hi Ragom, Isis here. I"ve been in my furever home for a couple weeks now and I want to thank you all for finding me such a wonderful foster home and now my furever home. I love you foster mom and thank you for taking such good care of me. I will never forget you but please don't worry about me because my new mom and dad just love me so much and I love them too. They spoil me :). I sleep in my own bed at night next to theirs and in the morning I get to jump up in bed with them to snuggle. (I love a lot of attention.)

I met 3 cats here and learned very quickly who is the boss. They have learned to love me. One of them rubs up on me and one of them even shares my bed sometimes!

I am in training now to learn the boundaries of the hidden fence we had installed to keep me safe. I have a very large area to run around since they put the fence around not only our house and empty lot next to us but Grandma's in the back yard and brother's houses too. There are 3 boys that live there and I love to play with them. I run up to their door every day to see if I can come in to play. They love me too. There are a lot of squirrels around here. I chase them up the trees. I love to play ball and my mom and dad like it that I am so gentle with my favorite toys. I don't chew them up.

A big Thank You to Ragom and all of the volunteers who make it possible to find us Golden's new furever homes. What a wonderful rescue group. I hope to update soon if Mom can learn her camera better to get you some more pics!

Today, Isis left Fridley for her “Fur..ever” home.  She is going to a wonderful family with lots of room in her new home to run and play.  During the day, she’ll be going to work with her new owner mom.  That’s her favorite place – right on the floor nearest you. Her new family had to say goodbye to their resident Golden just a few months ago, so now they have another girl to love.  It was the perfect match for everyone.

We’ll miss you Isis.  You were a dream girl and nearly caused us to be foster failures by adopting you ourselves!
