Great news! Ivy has found her forever family! Ivy will be heading off to a family with a mom and a dad. She has a huge backyard with plenty of space to run, swim, chase Frisbees and most importantly, relax. We hear she has a neighbor dog, Chase, who is excited to meet her, too.
Ivy was able to master sit, shake, lay down and stay during her time with us. We were so impressed by her retriever abilities - when she would turn back around with whatever we tossed, we'd say, "Watch out, retriever retrieving!". We could tell she was so proud of her skills.
We will miss her sweet little face and her funny antics. We wish her the best in her future in the U.S.!

Please welcome beautiful Ivy to the RAGOM family! Ivy came to RAGOM from China as a part of RAGOM's international rescue program. Ivy is 10 months old and has been adjusting to her new life in the U.S. quite well.
During her first week here, Ivy learned a few things about what we call “the Golden life”. She got her very own plushy bed for snoozing, tried several different types of delectable dog treats, and was able to relax and decompress from her long journey outside in the green grass.
She also acquired two new toys picked specifically for her – a purple unicorn and a lambchop! She carries both around and never knows which to bring with her outside.
We’ve learned a few things about Ivy in the short time she has been with us. She’s a petite 55 lbs and a bit of a picky eater. Finding a good nutritious food for her that she likes will be an on-going journey.
She went through a bout of kennel cough which we think messed with her taste buds, but happy to report we believe she’s on the mend.
Ivy has surprised us with understanding commands. She can sit, shake, and lay down. We are working on “stay” and “come”. While the name “Ivy” was new to her, we think she’s catching on to that, too! She seems very eager to please and willing to learn new commands.
Because Ivy is young and can be nimble and quick, children should be at least 8 years old in her new home. She is friendly, but may knock over small children if she’s excited.
We have had to keep Ivy quiet inside while she recovered from kennel cough, but we plan to get her in front of other dogs soon and with proper introductions, we think she will do just fine socializing with others.
As soon as Ivy is out of the quarantine that Minnesota requires when being transported from China, we plan on walking her much more to determine if a Gentle Leader or harness would be better for her to learn how to be a good walking companion. More on that soon!
A physical fence is optional for Ivy, but her future home needs to have a solid plan for keeping her safe in their yard while outside. Even though she’s small in stature, she shocked us with a BIG bark! For that reason, Ivy needs a home without shared walls (apartment, townhome, condo, etc).
If you enjoy an active lifestyle and are looking for an intelligent, spunky, and sweet companion, Ivy might be your match!
