Dear Ragom,

I know you would like to know that we had to put Jade, our Golden Retriever/Chesapeake mix, down last night. She was 11 years old.

We adopted her when she was about 18 months old. She came to us a very strong headed young lady and continued to be up until the end. She loved food and any chance she could get to steal it from the table top she would do it. Even if you were in the room with her. We could never break her of that bad habit. But she was so loving; always wanting to be petted. You would have to push her away if you didn’t want to pet her anymore, she would not leave.

We will miss her. We have shed many tears the last few days knowing that this day would have to come.

During her lifetime Jade was a very healthy dog. She never had any major or minor, for that matter, health issues. We took her to the vet every Spring for her annual shots. Her health issues now were her hips, where she couldn’t jump up into the car anymore, and fairly large tumors growing on her body. She was starting to lose her hearing and sight. She was one of the healthiest dogs we have ever owned.

Thank you for the opportunity to adopt this wonderful creature.

I am proud to say that we adopted our dog from RAGOM. You do wonderful things for these wonderful animals. God bless you all.

Fondly,
Diane
