Jasmine 11-375

Profile

Jasmine is a 5 to 7 year old female being fostered in Inver Grove Heights.

Jasmine is one of three dogs that came from a puppy mill. She has spent her whole life having babies and living in not such a good place. No more babies for this girl.

She is a purebred GR. When she first came here she was very dirty and had matted fur. She has had a few baths and a lot of combing which she seems to like. She is very gentle and very quiet. She is still very scared and spends most of her time in her crate, we leave the door open but she does not come out very often. Her health is OK, she has a few problems. She has hook worms and a fractured tooth. The biggest problem she has is that she is so big. She is not a tall dog but her weight is 97.3 pounds. She will need to lose some weight before she can get spayed. She is about 27 pounds overweight. When she is at a safe weight she will be spayed and get her tooth pulled.

We take small walks every day and are trying to build up her stamina. She loves to walk and does not pull, in fact she does a bit of leaning on my leg. She stays very close.

She is not eating very well, but we will give her the time she needs to feel comfortable. Jasmine will not be able to go to he forever home until she is spayed and we can’t do that until she loses some weight. We are working on that.

Jasmine is fine around children but the little ones scare her, they move so fast and are a bit loud for her liking. She is a beautiful girl that needs time to learn how to be a dog.

Today is a big day for Jasmine. She has been adopted and is now living with a wonderful new family. I am so happy for her, she has a new brother to keep her company. She was wandering around the yard and the house to check out her new place, she even shared a bowl of water with her new brother, Pokey. I wish her and the O family all the best, Jasmine and the O family are so lucky to have found each other.

Jasmine is a wonderful dog that got a great new life, thanks to RAGOM and all the wonderful volunteers who help. So many people involved in every dog's story. I am so glad I could be one of them!!!

I Love you Jasmine!! You Will Always Have A Special Place In My Heart.

Jasmine has had a busy week. She went to Chuck and Don's in Highland Park last week. When she was there she meet a very wonderful family. After talking with them they wanted to have a home visit with her. Saturday we went to meet them and to check out their home and resident dog, the meeting went very well. Jasmine was able to do the steps to get outside and had no issues with the resident dog. She liked this family very much. Well the good news is she loved them and they loved her. My sweet girl has found her forever home!!! She is very lucky to have found such a wonderful family and they are lucky to have such a wonderful dog!!! Jasmine will get her spay on Thursday then have a little time to recover and then she will go to her forever home. I am so happy for this wonderful girl. I will miss her deeply but I know she will be loved and have a wonderful life.

This is Jasmine hanging out with my resident dog Baylee. She is very tolerant of this young dog.

Jasmine had a great weekend, the weather was good and she had a few good walks. She spent part of Saturday at Chuck and Dons. She met a lot of very nice people, she even had a few tail wags for some of them. That's huge for Jasmine!! Thanks to all the RAGOM fans who came out to see the dogs.

Jasmine is still looking for that special someone, could that be you?

Jasmine is doing great!! She went to the vet today, she has lost 12 pounds so far. She has an ear infection but it is not too bad. She will also need a few teeth pulled out when she gets spayed. She is doing so well on her weight loss that she will be geting spayed in the near future.

She is still very shy and is showing fear at loud noises but she is coming out of her crate a little more. She still loves to be outside and really does enjoy her walk, we are walking almost two miles a day. She keeps up a good pace. She is getting better at getting into the car - I think as she gets lighter she will be able to get in on her own. She is very good in the car and she can get out with no problems. She is looking for someone who will love her. Jasmine is a very quiet and mellow dog.

Things she will need:

  • She will not be a running partner but she is a good walker.
  • She needs a physical fence.
  • No small children.
  • Another dog in the house.

She does not need a lot. Mostly Someone to love her.

Jasmine had a great time at Petco today, she met a lot of people and dogs. She would like to give a big thank you to all the people who came to see her and to the people who donated money to RAGOM today. She is doing very good at meeting people and she enjoys all the pets she gets when we go out. After her busy day she came home and headed for her favorite spot, her crate, she was asleep in just a few minutes and was snoring so loudly.

Jasmine is still looking for her forever home. she will need a home that has another dog a fenced yard and no small children, if you could give her what she needs she would love to meet you.

Good news for Jasmine today! She went up to the vet to get weighed and she has lost a total of ten pounds so far. She has 17 pounds to lose and she will be at her ideal weight. Jasmine should lose about ten more pound before it will be safe to get her spayed then she will be ready for her forever home.

She needs help to get into the car, I put her paws on the seat and then have to lift her back end up and in. She rides very nice, she will sit and look out the window or she will lay down. She doesn’t mind the car.

She is still very shy and spends a lot of time in her crate, she eats in her crate and drinks in her crate. She would drink water outside but it is too cold now and it keeps freezing up. Jasmine is a very sweet dog, likes to be petted and loves to go for a walk. She is a very quiet dog. No barking at anything when she is outside or in the house, she only barks one time when she wants to go outside.

As I sit here and write this Jasmine is laying on the floor outside of her crate that doesn’t happen very often but is good to see.

Happy Holidays to you and to all the wonderful people who have helped her get to where she is now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Jasmine is doing very good. She is feeling more comfortable and not as shy. She is eating much better and going outside to take care of her business.

She is on a thyroid medication, she takes one pill two times a day, this should help her with her weight. She has lost 5 pounds, that is great!! She will need to lose at least 13 more before it will be safe for her to get spayed. She loves to take short walks and that can only help with her weight loss.

She is looking for her forever home to have a fenced yard, no small children and a resident dog to help her learn. Jasmine is a puppy mill mother who does not know how to play or act like a dog. She is still afraid of loud noises and fast movements. She will retreat to her crate when she is scared, she does feel safe in there and spends a lot of time inside. We leave the door open and she just hangs out the front door. She is very sweet and a very mellow dog.
