Jessie 08-179

Profile

Welcome our newest RAGOM girl, Jessie! She is a Golden Retriever/Irish Setter mix and boy is she a dark red! Absolutely gorgeous! She's said to weigh about 70 pounds and looks a little heavy. She has lived her life so far entirely in the country so is adjusting to being a city girl now with all of the different noises. Jessie met the pack without issues and appears to be quite submissive. We will see if we can help her gain some confidence. So far she wants to be near me at all times. We will get her to the vet as she needs to be spayed and brought up to date on vaccinations. More later as we get to know her.

Jessie has gone to her forever family after her scary trip to the vet for her spay. She was very scared when I left her there and told the vet tech so! But she calmed down and went through it all without a problem. She is on her way to the K family and will be given all the TLC she needs and deserves!

Jessie went to the vet today and as suspected, she has an ear infection. Otherwise she is very healthy and will be spayed next week. She weighs 75 pounds and looks like she could lose a couple which she may do here this week as she is still pretty nervous. So she's not eating full meals yet. She is totally glued to me! Jessie is still nervous in her new world and has shown no desire to play with me or my dogs. She really just wants to snuggle.

I have crated her a few times while I am at work since she cries when I leave. I think she does feel safer in the crate although she doesn't want to go in. A Kong filled with frozen peanut butter gets her in there. She's only in there for about 4 hours until my neighbors come and let all the dogs out.

I think Jessie will do fine in a house without other dogs. I don't know about cats. She was gentle with a 8 week old puppy we met at the vet today. She grew up with young kids. If you are interested in meeting this beautiful girl let placementatragom [dot] org  know!
