Jester is a Golden mix 7 year old male. My guess is that he got the name Jester because he was a funny puppy and as an adult dog he sure makes us laugh! Jester likes to be with people and LOVES getting pets. Jester will make sure when you stop petting him you remember he is still near by as he will do a silly scoot-closer movement and lean on you or put his paw on top of your foot. If you are petting him and he is lying down he will roll over in very slow motion for tummy rubs and look at you with his big brown eyes. He is adorable!
Jester was surrendered to the humane society and had an injury to his left cheek. It is unknown as to how or what happened. Jester was surrendered to RAGOM from the local shelter in South Dakota. He was taken to the Vet and his injury was taken care of. As you can see from the photo, Jester's wound is almost completely healed. Thank you to RAGOM for taking care of this big sweet boy!
Jester knew sit and come and was house trained when he came to our home in the twin cities. He has learned to sit and wait when we put food in his dish; he waits when the door is opened before he goes out side; he is learning to be an air-bud dog (we through a tennis ball up on the garage roof and he catches it after one bounce when it hits the ground). Jester is learning drop (lie down).
Jester has a few bad habits that we are working on and his furever home will have to re-enforce positive behavior. Jester digs holes in the yard but will stop when told to; ripped up 1st blanket in his crate but after he was told that was not ok, he has left the 2nd blanket alone; he puts one paw up to get attention.
Jester will definitely need a Gentle Leader and dog school as he is a solid 90 lb lovable dog. He measures approx. 25" from the floor to the middle of his back.
Jester has been neutered and is up to date on shots, so he's ready to go. Jester likes kids, other dogs and loves tennis balls and car rides. We do not have a cat so we are not sure how he'd react to them. Jester takes treats very gently, goes into his crate willingly, and sleeps through the night. More on this big gentle sweetie as we get to know him better.
