Memorial to Zeus
Dear Zeus, I miss you so much. Words cannot describe the pain, sorrow, emptiness & despair. You were my shadow, best friend, soulmate, ..., everything. You held us all together.
You taught Harley everything. You snuggled him, ate bones with him, ran circles with him, you loved him. You would take him into the bathroom & shut the door to protect him from storms. You would let me know when you both needed to eat, a treat, water, outside. He knows you are gone & won't do these things without you. He's avoiding the places you slept together & just rests his head next to it as if you will return & find that place once again. He is lost without you yet since our visit he seems to know you are gone. I miss your happy smile, cuddles, snuggling, hiding under the covers when you are goofy or scared, talking whether it was your moans of come on mom, or I want this now or do this mom, you always let me know (the house is quiet without you in it.). You greeted everyone at the door. You always made sure everyone was happy. You would patiently watch or rest your blocky head just to let us know you were there. You were smart. By 6 months you passed every class I could sign you up for. I had to get creative in teaching you and soon you were leading and teaching me. You would tell me when to go to bed or if I fell asleep to the TV. You were there for every relationship. You always needed to make sure I was ok. You would howl when I left for a run or ride on my bike. You would follow me in the bathroom. Your paw prints are slowly washing away in my shower. You would open & close doors as I was getting ready, playing peek a boo with me. You were so silly. You played hide & seek. You would dance. You protected me and would let me know who was here. You laid beside me every night. In the morning, alarm set or not you would stretch, & nudge me and let me know it was time to get up. If I was lazy, you would groan, lay back down and give me a little time before you started up again. You had automatic snooze & always seemed to know whether it was 5 minutes or a couple of hours more of rest. You loved car rides & would always sit in back with your head touching my shoulder or elbow. You were always touching me. I miss your warmth. It is so cold around me. I have layers & blankets yet I'm forever cold without you. Most of all, I miss your hugs, kisses & snuggles. I want to grab you, squeeze you & you to tell me it will be ok but there is nothing but emptiness surrounding me. You are gone. You were my everything. I love you so much!

You kept Mia in line, yet took a beating for it, she's searching for you, and you protected her. You let her in the house when she was scared. You found her when she was lost. You let me know where she was at all times. She misses you & can't find you.
