Let's all welcome Jordan into the RAGOM family!! Jordan is a Golden & Great Pyrenees mix but he looks all golden & definitely has the heart of a golden. He is a 9 year old neutered male that liked to chase the neighbors donkeys thus he got the boot & made the trip from Iowa & joined our family last week. He is just a sweetheart.

Jordan made the adjustment to living with my 3 other goldens (2 females & 1 male) & 3 young kids with hardly a to do. He already has a new playmate & girlfriend in his fur step sister, Lady. You should see them play...you would never guess that Jordan is 9!! He has also decided that living in the house is great & sleeping on the bed is even better. It's a pretty high bed & how he makes it up there I'll never know. He'll sleep up there during the day but at night he prefers to sleep on the floor.

Jordan is now UTD, fecal negative, & heartworm negative & microchipped. His ears were a little red & irritated but NO infections...Yeah!! He needs a bit of work as far as leash walking is concerned...he does well as long as nothing catches his interest. If he catches a whiff or sees a squirrels then he pulls very hard...we'll be trying the gentle leader shortly. He has done a little bit of counter surfing but is easily directed with a no! He loves to be brushed & will simply lie there & fall asleep. Jordan is a beautiful, very light blonde golden but unfortunately someone gave him a rather bad haircut. It's really not that bad but some of his feathering was very shortly trimmed so it will need time to grow out.

If you are looking for a wonderful senior companion, Jordan is your man. Contact your placement advisor soon if you are interested in this wonderful guy.

Dear Ragom Friends,

It is with heavy hearts that we write to inform you that we helped our dear sweet Jordan to the Rainbow Bridge today (4/8/11). He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his left front leg one month ago. We did all we could to make him comfortable. The tumor was fast growing, and he had difficulty walking.

Jordan spent his final day outside with us on this warm beautiful spring day. He got his favorite ice cream treat (Sweet Scoops), peanut butter and cookies, and lots of belly rubs. He loved it all, and we are at peace knowing he was able to spend his final day that way.

We will miss him terribly. We are honored to have been his caretakers these last three years. We thank you for rescuing him and entrusting us with his care.

Special thanks to Dr. Mike Westfall at Hudson Road Animal Hospital and Dr. Heather Evans at All Creatures Acupuncture for their care and support of Jordan.

Anne, Dave, Pippi, Lizzy, and Willy M.

Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth, my 2 front teeth, my 2 front teeth....oops, I already have those, so maybe you could bring me a forever family of my own.

Happy Holidays,
Love, Jordan

Jordan has been such a good boy this year but as you can tell by my lack of updates, I have not. As the new year gets close I'll add keeping timely updates to my resolution list.

Jordan is such a wonderful boy. He is a big, beautiful guy & at his last weigh in he was 94 lbs. That sounds big to most but he is not fat by any stretch of the imagination...he's just a tall fellow & is long & lean. I don't think this guy has a mean bone in his body. He gets along well with everyone. He has a special friend in my female golden "Lady Lu". He loves to play with her, sleep with her & follow her everywhere. They are pretty inseparable. It's hard to believe that Jordan is 9 years old...he keeps up with my younger goldens without any problem. He can even keep up with the 4 wheeler when we're out riding in the field. Jordan can give high 5's when he's feeling like it & is a good high jumper too....I'm guessing he played basketball in a past life!!
