It has been a minute since my last update and let me tell you, I am such a fun pup. My foster family had me do a session with a professional in the Holistic Pet Care field, and wow have they seen changes. During my session with Amy, she helped me realize and understand more about what is happening in my life right now.

You see I wasn’t sure if what I was doing was ok. Just hanging around this new place, not sure of what may happen next. She told me that the past is the past, and that I need to slowly let go of my past experiences and open myself to enjoying the new ones I am being offered.

She told me that I will never have any more puppies, something I seem to recall my foster family telling me too, and that took a huge weight off my shoulders. So much weight in fact that I am now jumping up onto Foster Mom’s bed for pre nighttime snuggles and early morning snuggles. The weight of knowing I am free from having puppies makes me jump for joy—and snuggles.

I also seem to have my foster family twisted around my little paws. They put a new sofa outside, I think just for me! It is so comfortable. When it’s not too hot in the evenings, my foster family sits outside with us dogs so we can run around and play, but I like to snuggle on the sofa.

With the heat they have also filled up something called a pool. Let me tell you it was heaven. I laid down in there and just relaxed. It was very nice.

So, working with Amy and my foster family is helping me relax and become more myself. And myself is what they call a true Golden. A dog who loves pets, greets people and dogs with a tail wag, and who is looking for her furever home.

Kaylee's foster family is fortunate to have friends who dabble in photography. On Sunday morning Kaylee had a tiny photo shoot to capture her smiles, beauty, and grace. The photographer wrote the following on her page after meeting Kaylee. Please enjoy the following photos and a new person's perspective on Kaylee:

“I’d love to introduce you all to Kaylee! She is an incredible 7-year-old Golden girl up for adoption through RAGOM. Kaylee was released from a breeder, where she spent many years, yet she still loves people so much.

“I got to spend two blissful hours with her today taking some photos to capture how amazing she is. She has such a beautiful, calming energy about her. I truly can’t put into words how special she is.

“Kaylee is wonderful with her doggy foster brother and sisters, sweetly will take treats from your hand, and loves nothing more than gentle pets and walking around the soft grass. I wondered to myself if she ever knew what grass was like before?

“She is nervous about doorways, quick movements, and loud noises, but is conquering her fears every day. She just wants to find someone to show her what an amazing life can be like and I assure you she will give many more years of happiness in return."

I know, another update so soon! Well, Kaylee went on a road trip this past weekend to a Meet & Greet down in Rochester, Minnesota. She did amazingly! Yes, she was still a bit nervous around new people but quickly settled in and was looking for pets. She even wagged her tail when meeting the ambassador Golden Retrievers who came with the host.

Kaylee rode like a dream on the way down, mostly laying in the backseat. But on the way back home, she kept popping up to look out the window. I think she really enjoyed the trip and enjoyed seeing new scenery.

Once we got home, Foster Mom took one of her resident dogs for a walk, and Kaylee and her foster sister Stacey looked out the window longingly as if to say, “Take us with you.” Since then, we have gone on two walks and she is getting so much better at them. Enjoy these photos of our trip.

It has been one month since the last update and Kaylee has continued to show us how resilient and loving she is. She starts off every day by doing a full romp around the yard, tail wagging as fast as it can possibly wag. She then comes in and goes to her kennel to eat up her delicious breakfast.

This girl loves her kennel. She enjoys going in on her own during the day to take naps, add to her collection of stuffed animals, and has even taken a liking to a specific brand of toy: the very loveable hedgehog toy. I think we counted 7 ‘hedgies’ in there one day.

Her spirit continues to shine bright in her new environment. She has met new people and will no longer run away from them, but stand back and observe them. And sooner rather later, she will approach them, give them a sniff and then ask for pets.

This is a big accomplishment for the girl who wanted nothing to do with human touch for the first few weeks in foster. She now craves it. So much so that she has figured out how to climb onto the couch for more pets. Her fosters’ favorite part of watching Kaylee grow is her giving ‘boops’ to them as if to say, “I would love more pets please.”

She has even gained enough confidence to eat her dinner in the living room in front of her fosters and her foster siblings. She has shown zero food aggression towards her foster siblings, although they know better than to go into another dish. Dinner time is always monitored at her foster family’s home to ensure everyone is happy and safe.

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read about Kaylee. She has been in her current foster home for three weeks now and is doing wonderfully! She shows us every day how brave she is getting, and her foster family is so proud of her.

Since her last update she has seen the vet and was given a healthy evaluation. She did have a double ear infection that we have since taken care of with daily ear cleaning and drops. She was such a good girl during this time, allowing us to clean her ears with ease. She also came back negative for heartworm and fecal parasites. She is a healthy girl. We are still awaiting her spay date, but hopefully that will be in January.

Kaylee also had a bath at foster family’s favorite store, Wag 'N Wash in Lakeville. They have self-grooming tubs, which allowed us to safely give her a bath. You can see she was a bit unsure but she did relax a bit during her spa treatment.

We also had a nice Christmas celebration at foster family’s home and Santa Paws even stopped by with a nice toy of Kaylee’s very own.

We were so very proud of how brave she was, as she decided to park herself in the middle of the living room during all the unwrapping.

Kaylee has decided she enjoys observing the household from the living room and goes where the people are. During Christmas dinner, she gently went up to her foster mom's mother and gingerly poked her asking for pets. Even though we were eating at the table, she received pets and praise for her bravery. She will ask for pets with a tiny, gentle nose poke.

Kaylee continues to do all her business outside and loves running around the yard with her foster siblings. Her tail is wagging and she is genuinely happy. She eats her meals nicely in her kennel.

She understands the following phrases: come, outside, kennel, and upstairs.

What she will need in her forever home is patience, a medium- to large-size dog companion from whom she can continue to learn, children age 10+, a fence and last but not least, all the love.
