King came in last week from a commercial breeding facility. He is a 4.5-year-old English Creme Golden Retriever.
He is vetted and up to date on shots. He weighs in at 57 lbs. and tested negative for parasites. He is being treated for a double ear infection and will be neutered on Thursday.
King had his first ever bath and was very scared at first, but when we were all done, he was a happy dog. He smells so much better.
King needs another large dog in his forever home as he continues to learn from a confident dog.
He has learned many new things in the short week he has been with us:
- He is able to do steps to go outside to potty.
- He is going through doors and coming back inside.
- He is learning how to live inside a house.
- He loves the soft rugs to lay on.
- He enjoys good food.
We are taking baby steps with King. He is very scared of some noises, but continues to work through them.
Cooper, our resident dog, helps King feel comfortable and is always near. King likes to see Cooper and us all the time; it makes him feel secure for now.
He is also skittish at times. but that will improve once he feels more confident.
He doesn't know toys, but he found a tennis ball and played with it for a bit. He also grabbed a stuffed toy and shook it. So, he's trying new things, which is nice to see as we just take for granted all dogs like toys and noises do not frighten them.
Stay tuned more to come as we learn more. Follow King's adventure.
King in unavailable until he is neutered and we know more of what he will need in his forever home.
