Lady has been doing wonderful. For the past 3 weeks I've been leaving her loose in the house when I'm gone and she hasn't had a single accident or gotten into anything. I got out my orthopaedic dog bed, and Lady asked, "Is this Heaven?" She loves the bed, and has to make sure she has her cow in bed with her. It's so cute to watch her pick it up, and get it situated just right, and then lay down next to it.

She likes the snow, and goes out and rubs her face in it. She'll come to the door with a white face. I think she likes it a lot better since she isn't living in it full time anymore.

We're very excited. She has a family driving 6 hours to meet her tomorrow. Please keep your fingers crossed for this wonderful girl to have a happy ending!

Lady has had a great week. I pronounce her completely housebroken. She has stopped sleeping in her crate, and now sleeps next to my bed, usually with my 20 lb. yellow cat sleeping beside her. I have stopped crating her when I leave, and just letting her have free run of the upstairs, and she's been fine. She doesn't get into anything inappropriate. She's become less of a Velcro dog, and now will go lay down in the bedroom when she's tired, even if I'm in the living room. I've only heard her bark twice, both times when she wanted in from outside. She doesn't bark when people come to the door, she just likes to follow them around, hoping that they'll pet her.

She loves the cow woobie that was my dog's favorite. She has to have it next to her when she sleeps, as you can see. She is all ready to find her perfect home. If you want a really easy keeper, with lots of love to give and share, this girl is for you. Please e-mail placementatragom [dot] org if you'd like to add her to your family.

Lady has had a great couple of weeks. She's really settling into living in the house. She was spayed yesterday and that went really well, so she's ready to find her forever home. She really likes my cats. One of them really likes her, and tries to share her crate from time to time. She's crate trained and really likes her crate. I tried to let her just sleep in my bedroom, without being in the crate, but she crates herself when she's ready to go to sleep. I had been putting her in a bedroom when I left, so she wasn't in a crate all day. One day last week, I was calling her to put her in "her room" and she wouldn't come. I walked around the house to find her, and she was in her crate, just smiling at me and wagging her tail. Since then, I've been keeping her in her crate when I'm gone. I think she likes to be able to see the cats, and they like to rub up against the crate door, and lay on top of her crate.

She is so well behaved, she never gets into anything. She's such a calm girl, she doesn't need a lot of exercise, but she does love to go places. She's still got plenty of energy to play ball, and go for lots of walks. I really want her to have a family of her own, so she can get all the love she deserves. If you'd like to share your life with this incredibly sweet girl, please e-mail placementatragom [dot] org and let them know.

I picked up Lady yesterday. She rode pretty well in the car after about 15 minutes, which is good considering that she has hardly been out of the backyard. We stopped at PetSmart where she charmed everyone she met. Everyone kept saying that she certainly doesn't look or act like she's 10. She really liked all the kids that stopped to pet her. We went home, and she adjusted to being in the house within an hour. She met my cats without incident, even though she'd never been around a cat before. My oldest cat likes dogs, and has started rubbing up against her already.

I gave her a bath, and she did great. Her fur is now really soft. She knows sit and come. She does jump up-very lightly, but not very often. She seems to only do that when we're outside. Since she's always been an outside dog, she technically isn't housetrained. She has only had one accident, and that was my fault. I didn't pay attention when she whined, so she went downstairs in front of the door that she uses to go outside. I put her outside while I was cleaning it up. She went out and pottied again, then came back to the door, looked at me through the screen, and barked once. That was the first time I'd heard her bark. It didn't take her long to decide that being in the house is so much better than being outside!

She pulls on the leash, but we'll begin working on that with the Gentle Leader tonight. She's been sleeping in a crate, and even going into the crate on her own. I'm keeping her crated when I'm gone, at least for now, until I'm sure she understands that you only potty outside. I'm going to make a vet appointment to get her up to date on her shots and have her spayed.

She is a love bug that is completely content to just sit next to you, and if you're petting her, then she's in heaven. If you'd like to make this girl part of your family and help her make up for all the attention she's missed, you'd better e-mail placementatragom [dot] org pretty soon. She's not going to last long in foster care.
