Our beautiful girl Lady Lily was adopted today. A very special family drove a long way to meet and adopt her. Lily was a hard one to let go – she is making great progress (slowly) coming out of a breeding situation in which she was mother to 96 pups!
So much for her to learn about a normal, golden life after being in that breeding situation. It will be baby steps for a while for her due to her past…… but she is doing great. Many of you know it is all the small steps/strides these dogs make which warms your heart and makes you so glad you can be a small part of it.
We have had a lot of new construction in our immediate area, so this is a huge blessing for our Lily girl. She is now “home” with her wonderful mama Deb, and her darling brother Bullet.
It is so amazing the wonderful families we get to meet and adopt our beauties too! So for one overbred female golden, she struck it rich with her new home.
Ah, the sheer joy of being able to help in the journey of these overbred auction dogs to a loving, wonderful home. What a truly heart-warming experience. We love it!

A short update on our Lady Lily. She has been progressing very well. She enjoys jumping in the truck and going for a ride with our Bridger boy. Amazes me. Sits up on the seat and checks out the scenery.
She is learning to see what ‘play’ is about. It will take time, but oh so cute to watch. She, of course, never had a chance for that from all her breeding years. Just to be a mama.
She is becoming more affectionate too. She is so soft, gentle and sweet. Lily will make a great companion for that right someone. So beautiful.
Last Friday she had her long day at the vet. She was spayed and had some very bad teeth removed. The surgery took a very long time due to a uterus that has produced so many (96) puppies and the dental was tough too as the extractions werelarge. My poor girl.
Lots of quiet time, comfort, babying and love for her now. It breaks your heart when these procedures need to be done on these lovely girls. Thank God it only has to happen once. It will take some time to recover and then she will be a ‘free, non-breeding’ girl! We just adore her.

I would like to introduce Lady Lily to RAGOM. Lily was raised in a breeding facility and had ultimately birthed 96 puppies. Those days are over for her now. We have had Lily a week now and she is so very sweet and gentle.
She is learning new ways, sounds, places, and schedules. She is a typical shy breeder mama who loves to carry her "babies" around. She has some safer spots to go to but basically is out where we are. It is fun to observe how these dogs try to learn these new things. So proud of her.
We went to the groomer (beauty parlor) this week and she did fairly well considering the blower noise and things. It was in late afternoon when only one or two dogs were there and was much quieter.
Lily will need a quieter home. Mature children and definitely another dog. She actually bonded quite quickly with our 8-month-old Goldendoodle, Bridger. She loves to follow his lead no matter what. They both even enjoy going for car rides together and Lily jumps right in!
It would be probably much nicer for Lily if she had another (larger) dog to bond with that is a little older and less active, even though our Bridger is a gentle BIG boy, he really wants to play and she is not interested.
Lady Lily will be getting spayed next week and has a couple teeth that need to be removed so she is not available at this time yet.
What a beautiful, lovely angel she is. We sure enjoy her.
