Liberty 08-410

Profile

My name is Liberty because I was rescued on July 4th. I love my name because I am liberated and free. Well, not really free as in no cost. I mean I can run around and play and chase and be free. The vet thinks I am somewhere around 3 years old. In dog years, that's almost 21. I have more energy than the kids that came to visit last nite and they are 4 & 8.

First I want to thank the shelter for taking me in and healing up my icky ears. They are all better and don't hurt anymore. And I want to send big kisses to Amy for escorting me from the shelter to the vet.

Everyone says I'm so pretty. I don't think so at all. I was very matted when they found me as a stray and they had to cut my beautiful blonde hair and feathers. Now that I'm a RAGOM dog, FM says I'm going to eat healthy food and take vitamins and soon I will be pretty again. Heidi brought Cheyenne 08-406 over after the vet. She & FM gave me a bath outside cause I smelled bad. Thank you Heidi. Cheyenne is getting a spa treatment tomorrow at boarding. I'm lucky cause I have a foster family already. I feel better now and don't stink so bad, but FD says I need another bath. My hair is fluffier and healthier. In a couple months you won't even recognize me.

My foster sister is Meg and a kitten lives here. I have never seen one of those before. MiMi is a rescue from Wisconsin they got yesterday and she is so tiny. FM says it will be a peaceful kingdom around here and when she said NO, I backed off real fast. I'm not sure if I should play with MiMi or snack on her. I think we will be friends soon.

Well, I will be writing later. My bath is warming. Thank you for your interest in me.

Liberty has found her forever family with a wonderful RAGOM foster. Her brothers Skye and Red (both RAGOM rescues) welcomed her with tail wags and toy sharing. She is blessed to have a mom that will shower her with love, toys, treats and everything Golden including obedience classes. We miss you already, Lady L. Meg is quiet, but MiMi is loving her freedom. Thank you M family for adopting her.

Good Day Everyone,

I've never had such an exhilarating and exhaustive week. I need a nap just thinking about all the fun and adventures I've had. Let me catch you up on my new Golden Life:

Last week we went swimming in a large pool. It's referred to as a lake. Our friends from the New Brighton Dog Den, Lizzie 08-441, Lakota and Jerry met us there. Meg, Lizzie and I were anchored with long ropes. I must say I was a little apprehensive about that water and if I wasn't tangled so often, I may have gone a bit deeper like Meg. I dipped in the water but made darn sure I could touch the bottom and raced back to solid ground when I couldn't. We didn't stay too long because Lizzie was going to meet a potential forever family and she wanted to get back home to get ready. The family fell in love with her and she was adopted. I hope there is a forever family out there for me soon. Just email placementatragom [dot] org if you would like to meet me.

Saturday was the most wonderful Golden day for us, RAGOM picnic day. We got up very early to help prepare and then we all went on the Get Your Tail in Gear walk. I must say I have never seen so many dogs and people all day. There were wagging tails and smiles everywhere. I had the privilege of meeting Benji and Ruby. They have wonderful families and are so very happy. Don't mention this to Meg, but they said they don't even miss FD & FM. We were so exhausted after the PICNIC, that we had to nap with FM. Can you imagine foster mom bid on an item at the silent auction and guess what she brought home.......a cat basket. Gracious, we attend a picnic for Golden Retriever DOGS, she purchases something for that darn cat, MiMi.

Yesterday was another Golden Day. I enjoyed another backyard bubble bath compliments of two very special boys. They were a little afraid of me at first because I was so excited to see them. After a couple minutes they warmed up to me and we had a grand time. Shortly after that, we went for a walk around the block. Foster mom says I walk like a dream. I only have to wear the Gentle Leader because sometimes my collar is a little loose. Then we all picked up sticks for a campfire. The boys requested s'mores and I am so glad because Benji shared a secret with me yesterday. He told me how to sneak items from foster mom. And it worked. Those marshmallows were delicious, especially when paired with the graham crackers. I was in such a sweet mood after that little caper that I wasn't the least bit excited when foster mom was playing wiith MiMi.

Every night we have kitty class 101. Foster mom says it's de-sensitization. I say it's humiliating. Oh, well, if this is part of the Golden Life, then I better get used to it. I can't imagine a better life than this.

Thank you for following my notes..........Lady Liberty

Good Morning,

It was wonderful meeting you yesterday. I was very surprised there were so many people interested in me at Petsmart. I'm just a country girl, for goodness sakes, living in the big city. Life is very good as a RAGOM girl and I have met many friends with and without tails.

Here are pictures of the dog party Friday nite. This is everyone but Sam (he was busy with Heidi). We are playing the door game I told you about.

This is Hunter 05-00-146 and his foster mom, Christi.

They arrived late at Petsmart yesterday so you probably didn't have the pleasure of meeting him. Isn't he a handsome gentleman. There are so many wonderful RAGOM dogs looking for special families. Especially senior dogs. Hunter is 10 and he is faster than any dog I know. And, I hear he is a very good dock jumper, too.

Foster mom has suggested that I update you on the requirements for my adoption.

  1. Remember that litttle escape a couple weeks ago. I will without a doubt need a physical fence.
  2. I love kids. I love to play with everyone.
  3. I'm not so keen on cats, but we are working on that every day. Actually, kitty class 101 isn't so bad. I just might (paws crossed) get to like that cat.
  4. If you have another dog, I would appreciate that. Meg & I wrestle all the time so a brother or sister would be nice. If you don't have another dog, then I hope you spend a lot of time with me.
  5. Foster mom & dad say that I need obedience class to bond with you and gain self confidence. I already know SIT and a really strong STOP (when we wrestle too hard). I'm working on Down & Off & Stay. They confuse me. The bad news is that I still have a difficult time going outside by myself. The good news is that when you go out with me, when you tell me what to do, I do it on command. I don't require treats for that business anymore.
  6. I respect baby gates. That is how I am kept from going downstairs to visit Mimi.
  7. I hope that you will let me sleep with you or at least next to your bed. I like to be close to you. I will protect and watch over you.
  8. And last but not least, I don't care for crates. They scare me. I am alone with Meg every day on free roam for 9 hours and there's no accidents. None over night either. I'm very proud of that.

If all of the above are satisfactory to you, then please email placementatragom [dot] org.  I would love to meet you.

Thank you for your time today....................Lady Liberty

Hello,

My, my, the weather has taken a turn, hasn't it? With this chill in the air, good bye backyard spa. Meg and I are busy collecting sticks much to our joy for the backyard grill fires. Last nite Christi and Robbie came over. We chased balls in our yard and picked up sticks. After that all of us went downstairs to test me with that darn cat. I must admit my curiosity was peaked when we watched that little dickens play and scurry about under the sofa and into the tree. Christi had me on the teather and Gentle Leader so I wouldn't "taste" MiMi. I received several treats for my perfect behavior. To pacify everyone, I did accept her little paw touching mine. Keep those treats coming.

I went on vacation for a couple days with Heidi, Sam, Lakota, Jerry, Nike, Hippie Chic and Fred because my foster parents need a couple days without me so MiMi can have free roam. I will still honor my Saturday appearance at PetSmart, for goodness sakes, though. If you want to spare me the embarrassment of getting to know that darn cat, please, please....I am begging you to email placementatragom [dot] org .

Tonite the four of us went for a quick walk. I was on my best behavior. When I saw the squirrels, I bounced a bit, but didn't pull. Foster mom said I was a very good girl.

Foster mom is overjoyed that many bells have been ringing and the angel has her wings back. She thinks this is her lucky charm. Thank you for reading about me.........Lady Liberty

Hello,

Oh, my. I don't know what got me so distracted that I decided to leave that wonderful bed & breakfast Sunday evening. I remember I was frightened when I was lost.

I am dreadfully embarrassed and want to apologize and thank everyone who helped find me. I must say there is a lot of activity out in the real world that I'm not quite ready for.

With that said, foster mom has requested me to tell you what I am looking for in my forever family and some good things to know about me:

  • I need a fenced in yard.
  • I would prefer to be your one and only dog. (I want you all to myself.)
  • I am very velcro, translation-I want to be with you always. I will follow you everywhere. I anticipate where you are going and walk backwards in front of you so I can get there before you for more loving.
  • When we go for walks, I'll be next to you, especially if I have a Gentle Leader on and please note that I do not pull.
  • I'm a good passenger when I ride along with my foster mom.
  • I need obedience classes to understand the real world way of life. Furry little creatures, like cats, tempt my taste buds, so, well I guess you should have a cat-free house.
  • I LOVE the water. If you have a little pool or tub I can bathe and soak in, that would be a plus. Of course I would prefer water in it.

  • I LOVE sleeping at the end of your bed or back to back. I like being close to my people.
  • I want to be brushed and pampered. Here I am at my foster's right after my spa the day I arrived.

If you can accommodate these requests, I would love to make your acquaintance. Please contact placementatragom [dot] org

Thank you for your time and interest in me.......Lady Liberty
